Moments that Made US
Panel Exhibit Files Now Available

We are thrilled to announce that the Moments That Made US downloadable exhibition is now available.

Moments That Made US is a FREE, print-on-demand exhibition that explores the ideals at the heart of the Declaration of Independence through moments that have defined their meaning during the past 250 years.

This exhibition was developed through a multi-state collaboration using material from an exhibition of the same name created by History Colorado, with additional content about Pacific Northwest history developed by the Washington State Historical Society and the Oregon Historical Society.

How Does it Work?

The exhibition is completely modular, meaning each panel is designed to stand on its own so users can mix-and-match any combination of panels. All provided content is optional to use. The exhibition kit includes 33 ready-to-use exhibition panels plus two template options for adding local content to your version of the exhibition if desired.

The design allows organizations to consider their space and audience, and display as many or as few of the panels as desired, or rotate content throughout the year. The only out-of-pocket expenses are printing and mounting. Panels are designed to be printed at a scale of 24" wide by 36" tall allowing for easy production through self-service printing stores.

Spanish language panels for the "core" content are also available.

Who Can Use It?

Any partner organization can use the exhibition. Panels can be displayed at museums, city halls, libraries, schools, community centers, county fairs, community festivals—any place where the public has access.

TIP: To make the exhibit affordable, community groups can pool their resources and get one exhibit produced that could then travel around the community this summer.

How Can We Access the Files?

The files are available online. Because the majority of the content on the “core” panels is the intellectual property of History Colorado, all organizations wishing to use this exhibition must digitally sign a use agreement with History Colorado before accessing the files.

Once you have signed the agreement, you will have access to a private web page and corresponding password to download the exhibition materials.
