Rev. Anne Tabor
Senior Minister
3525 S. Bowen Road
Arlington, TX 76016

Vision:
Knowing we are One, we celebrate peace,
compassion, and equality for all.
Mission:
We empower people to live thriving spiritual lives.
From the Minister

Dear Unity Family,

As we continue our commitment to dismantling racism, one of the things we can do is make a pledge to educate ourselves. Fortunately, Robin DiAngelo’s bestseller, White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism, is giving us a new way to talk about race. As an academic, lecturer, and author, she is a prominent voice on issues about racial and social justice—particularly Whiteness Studies.
Quick backstory: after running diversity training for many years, Dr. DiAngelo heard every excuse imaginable from white people about why they weren’t racist.

Reasons like:

-They had a black friend.
-They were colorblind.
-They did teach for America!
-They were vegetarian.

Surely, they couldn’t be racist.
Acknowledging our racial biases is the first step to changing the systems around us and ending racism.

Enjoy this short entertaining interview with Dr. DiAngelo as she helps us understand why just “being nice” is not antiracism.
There is much for which to be hopeful. We are the ones.

In Love and Unity,
Rev. Anne Tabor

Gross Revenue         $109,774.16
Net Income            $ 3,681.35

Unity of Arlington recently applied for and received a PPP loan from the government stimulus program in the amount of $19,900. At this time it is still considered a loan from the government. If we are able to get loan forgiveness, which we are fully expecting to accomplish, then it will no longer be considered a loan but a gift that does not need to be repaid. We will keep you posted as to the current status of these funds.

WEEK 8: THE GIFT OF LEARNING
We are born with a sense of awe and wonder, anticipating discovery around every corner. A shiny penny or a snowflake holds a world of delight. But perhaps because our culture tends to overstimulate and excite our children, boredom begins to seep in. It’s not uncommon to hear complaints of, “I’ve seen that” or “I know that already” from children who are already closing the doors to their sense of discovery. In this episode children can see there is endless discovery and opportunity for growth, and learning is for everybody around the world. Let’s approach life with the wonder of a child and share our discoveries with our children. Perhaps together we can develop an irresistible habit for learning.

Our affirmation is:

I will always look for ways to learn and be loving to others.

Reverend Anne Tabor, M.Div., is available by appointment for spiritual counseling sessions at Unity of Arlington in a safe and supportive environment. As an ordained Unity minister, Rev. Anne, offers spiritual counseling to individuals seeking a deeper under-standing of themselves and their divine power within to solve life's challenges. Spiritual counseling can help if there is a need for inspiration, crisis support, or healing in any area of your life. Prayer and meditation are an integral part of Unity's spiritual principles, and an essential practice in realizing the answers we seek. We believe in the transformative power of affirmative prayer. You are a unique expression of God. Spiritual counseling will remind you of that!

Spiritual counseling is offered on a love offering basis. While no specific fee is expected or suggested, we do invite each person to leave a love offering. For more details, please call the church office 817-467-5151.

UNITY'S FIVE BASIC PRINCIPLES

Principle #1:
There is only one Presence and one Power in the Universe and in my life, God the Good.

Principle #2:
Human beings have a spark of divinity within them, the Christ spirit within.
Their essence is of God, and therefore they are also inherently good.

Principle #3:
Human beings create their experiences by the activity of their thinking.
Everything in the manifest realm has its beginning in thought.

Principle #4:
Prayer is creative thinking that heightens the connection with God Mind and therefore brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity, and everything good.

Principle #5:
Knowing and understanding the laws of life, also called Truth, are not enough.
A person must live the truth he or she knows.
CORE VALUES
Spirit-Led:
Centered in the awareness of God's presence, we turn within for divine guidance in
all we do.

Love:
Love is our True Nature. We express the harmonizing power of love to see good everywhere and in everybody. Love binds together the whole human family.

Diversity:
We believe that all people are created with sacred worth. In a spirit of Unity, we embrace each person as an expression of God grounded in truth and love.

Connection:
We live, love, and laugh from our Oneness with God. We honor our inter-connectedness with each other, with all life, and the earth.

Abundance:
God is our Infinite Source of Good. We gratefully demonstrate prosperity in all areas
of our lives. We wisely use our wealth of resources to serve our spiritual community and the world.

Service:
We cultivate enlightened leadership by practicing the teachings of Jesus the Christ through sacred service. It is a blessing to serve locally and globally.

Integrity:
We consciously choose to practice living our Core Values and Unity Principles rather than simply professing them. We choose to communicate from the heart with authenticity and deliver on our commitments with reliability.
