If the current Covid-19 numbers hold (and that is the big if), We will be making some slow changes to our worship services starting September 13. We will still hold our 8:30 Drive-in Service in the parking lot but now you may sit outside in a lawn chair that you bring. But you need to sit by your car, wear your mask, and social distance from each other. The service will run about 30-35 minutes.

Our 10:00 Livestream service will now also have up to 50 people in the sanctuary. But there are some big guidelines we have to follow:

  1. You must wear a mask
  2. You must sit socially distant from each other except from your immediate family
  3. We will not sing
  4. We will not have verbal responses
  5. The service will be 30 minutes long.
  6. We are limited to 50 people and you will have to respond to an rsvp email so we can keep track of our our numbers and attendee information before hand. If we have to continually turn people away, we will look at an alternative service.
  7. Following the CDC, DOH, State, and insurance recommendations, the nursery will remain closed and children 8 and under are asked to remain home and safe, and children/youth 9-17 are asked to remain with their parent or guardian at all times during the worship service and anywhere in the church facility, this includes the parking lot.

In the next few weeks will be giving you more information about what you can expect.

As always if because of age or underlying health conditions you are in a high risk category, please stay home and watch the livestream or join the drive in service at 8:30 and worship from the safety of your car.

This week’s Bible Study will cover Acts 4:1-31. Some of the questions we will discuss are

  1. In what situations do you find yourself praying most easily?
  2. What do the religious leaders want to know about the healing described in Acts 3:1-10?
  3. What is Peter’s defense? What strikes you as the boldest part of Peter’s defense?
  4. How do the authorities know that Peter and John had been with Jesus? What are the authorities questions? How does Peter respond?
  5. How are Christians to show respect both for human authority and God’s authority?
  6. How does Peter use Psalm 2 in Acts 4:23-31?
  7. Who or what is opposing your witness or Central’s witness for Christ? How do you pray about the opposition? How might your prayers change?
Worship & Covid Updates
  • Following the CDC, DOH, State, and insurance recommendations, the nursery will remain closed and children 8 and under are asked to remain home and safe, and children/youth 9-17 are asked to remain with their parent or guardian at all times during the worship service and anywhere in the church facility, this includes the parking lot.

  • Due to social distancing and sanitary requirements, and under the advice of the Department of Health, Center for Disease Control, and insurance guidelines, we will not be hosting small groups, Bible Studies, ministries, outreach, or programming on the property of CUMC for the time being. When these guidelines change, we will be in contact with all Sunday School, ministry, outreach, and program leaders regarding a reopening plan.
