December 2nd is....

National Special Education Day

This day commemorates the anniversary of our nation’s first federal special education law, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, signed by President Ford on December 2, 1975. This day was first celebrated in 2005 when the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) celebrated its 30th year. IDEA made public education available to all eligible children with disabilities across the nation and ensured special education and related services were provided for those children. This day honors the milestones that have been achieved for special education so far and reminds us of the continued progress to come. We are thankful for the students, parents, teachers, and administration striving to make special education possible for our students. To learn more about the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, visit HERE

El 2 de Diciembre es....

Día Nacional de la Educación Especial

Este día conmemora el aniversario de la primera ley federal de educación especial de nuestra nación, la Ley de Educación para Personas con Discapacidades, firmada por el presidente Ford el 2 de Diciembre de 1975. Este día se celebró por primera vez en 2005 cuando la Ley de Educación para Personas con Discapacidades (IDEA) celebró su aniversario de 30 años. IDEA puso la educación pública a disposición de todos los niños elegibles con discapacidades en todo el país y aseguró que se brindara educación especial y servicios relacionados para esos niños. Este día honra los hitos que se han logrado hasta ahora para la educación especial y nos recuerda el progreso continuo por venir. Estamos agradecidos por los estudiantes, padres, maestros y la administración que se esfuerzan por hacer posible la educación especial para nuestros estudiantes. International Day of Persons with Disabilities

The annual observance of the International Day of Disabled Persons (IDPD) was proclaimed in 1992, by the United Nations. The observance of the Day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. Help us

celebrate the International Day to raise awareness and promote the rights and perspectives of persons with disabilities around the world.

The theme for IDPD 2023 is "United in action to rescue and achieve the SDGs (sustainable development goals) for, with and by persons with disabilities". To learn more about International Day of People with Disabilities, visit HERE

Día Internacional de las Personas con Discapacidad

La observancia anual del Día Internacional de las Personas con Discapacidad (IDPD) fue proclamada en 1992 por las Naciones Unidas. La observancia del Día tiene como objetivo promover la comprensión de los problemas de la discapacidad y movilizar el apoyo para la dignidad, los derechos y el bienestar de las personas con discapacidad. Ayúdanos Celebre el Día Internacional para concienciar y promover los derechos y perspectivas de las personas con discapacidad en todo el mundo.

Become a parent leader by attending this virtual four-part advocacy training beginning in January 2024. Must be a parents with children under the age of 8 who have received Early Start services. There will be four modules to learn from, and parents completing the training will receive a parent-child care package with books, toys, and leadership tools.
