LAST DAY TO REGISTER FOR THE VIRTUAL CUB SCOUT CAMPOREE
Join us for a day of fun and adventures with a chilly theme. We’ll start on Friday evening with a frosty campfire, build your winter campsite inside or out, build a “snow”man and create your favorite winter‐themed campfire snacks.
Saturday, choose from a mixture of required and elective adventures, go for a hike, help with a service project, or just participate in fun activities. It’s a Snow Day so you can design the perfect day for you and your family.
HELP IS NEEDED FOR THE VIRTUAL CUB SCOUT CAMPOREE - IT'S TIME TO "DO A GOOD TURN DAILY"

The Virtual Cub Scout Camporee is looking for Scouts BSA youth or adult helpers to lead some of the adventures. Do you need service hours to advance? This would be a great way to that, and assist Cub Scouts from across the country.

CONGRATULATIONS TO...
PACK 65 SEYMOUR/OXFORD - The youth of Pack 65 had some fun in the snow and 8 young tigers won against 4 big bears in a tug of war. At the end of the day all the youth participated in sled pulls.

PACK 25, SHELT0N - Pack 25 of Shelton did a wonderful project that they shared with the Council for Scout Sunday. Members of their unit submitted videos of talking about what Scouting means to me. Here is an edited video of what the youth in Pack 25 think of Scouting. Want to know how the Cubmaster created the video email him here.
TROOP 55, SHELTON - The Housatonic Council has created a Mystery Hike for our units to participate in. The first unit to share their photos of participation was Troop 55 who held their meeting at the hike. Unfortunately, they did not get the answer correct. For more information on the Mystery Hike contact the Scoutmaster Ken McGovern.

THANK YOU to all our units who contributed photos and information for "CONGRATULATIONS TO..." This section of our newsletter is built through your contributions.

Continue to submit your stories and pictures of what your unit is doing. Please add an email for other leaders interested in contacting you, so they can do what you did in their unit.
2021 DAY CAMP / CUB RESIDENT CAMP BROCHURE
The Housatonic Council will be following COVID-19 measures in 2021, to keep our campers, families and staff safe.

In 2021, we look ahead with optimistic anticipation to a new scouting year. We maintain optimism with the realization there are more hurdles to clear in the months ahead. As challenges, new or old are presented, the Housatonic Council will persevere, and we will continue to meet them.

We are planning and anticipate holding our Cub Scout summer camp programs. On behalf of myself and the entire summer camp staff, welcome!

2021 SUMMER CAMP EMPLOYMENT
We are planning to hold summer camp in the summer of 2021 depending on the State of Connecticut's Guidelines for Summer Camps.

As we prepare for this expectation we need to hire summer camp staff. In 2021 we are trying to make the process easier. We will have one application and you can apply for either Cub Day Camp or Camp Strang Summer Camp or both. If you have any questions about the application please contact the Housatonic Council office at 203-734-3329 x 302.

2021 CAMP STRANG SUMMER CAMP BROCHURE
The Housatonic Council will be following COVID-19 measures in 2021, to keep our campers, families and staff safe.

2021 The Housatonic Council is anticipating holding summer resident camp in 2021. We are awaiting official information from the State of Connecticut.

However, there is no time like the present to share the 2021 Summer Camp Brochure for Camp Strang.

RECOGNIZING THE 2020 CLASS OF EAGLE SCOUTS

The Housatonic Council is honored and humbled to recognize the 2020 Class of Nineteen (19) Eagle Scouts. Their personal scouting accomplishment that showed their determination, leadership, and resolve. In 2020, only 4% of all youth who join a Scouts BSA troop earn the Eagle Scout rank.

2020 has been a year of great change, our units went from meeting in-person to meeting online. Some of our Eagle candidates conducted their project in person or completed their project through smaller groups or virtually.

The Housatonic Council wishes to thank the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Catholic War Veterans, and the Derby Elks for their donations to purchase Eagle Kits for our youth. These contributions allow units to receive Eagle Kits at no cost to the Unit.
