“For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

Luke 2:11 NKJV

This familiar verse reminds us of the great good news; we are not alone in this world. Jesus Christ, God the Son, came to earth, born of a virgin, fully God and yet, fully human. He knows and understands all that we go through. He understands our current situation, our pain, our discontent, our doubts, our questions. An important point of the good news of Jesus, though, is that not only does he know and understand, he has the ability and authority to intervene, to do something about it, to help you and me. No greater gift could be desired. No greater gift could be received. Christ the Savior is born.

As we celebrate this wonderful season of Christmas, let us give attention to the true reason we celebrate. Jesus. Notice that the Christmas tree points upward toward God, the twinkling lights remind us of the majesty of his glory, and the presents under the tree remind of him, the greatest gift of all.

Candie and I love you and wish you the holiest of Christmases and a happy and blessed new year.

We love you and are praying for you.

Journey to 21K Update

We’re excited to share that we have raised $2,215 so far in our Journey to 21K! Every donation brings us closer to our goal of reducing the cost of youth camp from $300 to $150 per camper, making it more affordable for our young people to attend. If you’d like to support this mission, please visit HawaiiCOG.org and go to the Give page. Every contribution helps us invest in the next generation of believers.

Mele Kalikimaka, Hawaii Youth and Discipleship Ohana!

Christmas is a time of celebration, reflection, and gratitude. It’s the season where we are reminded of the greatest gift ever given—the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. His arrival brought light into the darkness and hope to the hopeless, and it’s through Him that we find true peace and joy. As we gather with family and friends this holiday season, let us take a moment to pause, reflect on His love, and give thanks for the incredible things God has done in 2024. With hearts full of anticipation, we look forward to an exciting year ahead, knowing that the same Savior we celebrate at Christmas will continue to guide us every step of the way.

This coming year is shaping up to be one of our most exciting yet! We have an amazing lineup of events and opportunities to grow, serve, and connect, all centered around equipping our youth and children for the work God has called them to. Here’s a glimpse of what’s ahead in 2025:

Fire Within Training Conference – Saturday, May 24

Youth Camp: The Fellowship of the Redeemed – Monday, June 23 to Friday, June 27

The Fellowship of the Redeemed Rallies – August, September, October

These events are more than just dates on a calendar—they are opportunities to make a lasting impact on our youth and children, to invest in their future, and to see lives transformed by the power of Jesus.

As we celebrate the birth of Christ this Christmas and prepare for 2025, let’s commit to keeping Him at the center of everything we do. Together, let’s dream big, work hard, and watch God do more than we can ask or imagine.

From our family to yours, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!

Connecting churches to each other, the church to the community and the community to Christ

Congratulations to Our Newest Congregation! E KOMO MAI to Pastor Lawrence and the Church of the Lord Church of God

#WeCARE

On Thanksgiving Day, ICF reached out to the community with a spirit of love and service. People of all ages—young and old—went door to door, delivering gift baskets and greeting cards to neighbors as a way to connect and share the love of Christ. As they knocked on doors, they offered prayers, spreading the message of God's grace. They were able to bless 50 families, with this simple yet powerful gesture touching many hearts. We are THE CHURCH, a church that moves and serves. As Scripture reminds us, we are called to go into the world and share the gospel of Jesus Christ. This Thanksgiving, we give thanks to God for His unwavering faithfulness and loving kindness.

Maili Church of God Celebrates White Sunday on Oahu

White Sunday is an annual Samoan Holiday celebrated in October. It is also known as Lotu Tamaiti or Children's Service. White Sunday is a cultural holiday that celebrates the wonder and joy of Childhood.

October 27, 2024 the children and adults of Maili Church of God put on their finest white clothes to commemorate the day, as is tradition. All Sunday School classes from Nursery age to Adult Class participated by quoting sculptures. The Nursery to teen class wrote and performed skits and sang songs. They demonstrated great diction and remarkable public speaking skills.

The students received leis for their honor. Gifts of candy and small toys to encourage and congratulate them for their hard work were given to them at the appointed time.

Afterwards, the church broke with tradition in regard to the lunch-time meal. The children were served first and enjoyed a meal of cheeseburgers and pizza with soda and ice cream for dessert.

The Powerteens of ICF celebrated their 2nd annual Teens-Giving with a heartfelt banquet. Twenty-six young people gathered to express their gratitude and share what they are thankful for. The evening included a time of worship as they sang praises to God, followed by an inspiring message from Rev. Carla. Joined by Pastor Benny and Mama Diana, Pastor Jason, Minister Jeralyn, and Minister Sy, the group shared a powerful moment of foot washing, symbolizing their commitment to serving one another with humble hearts. They washed each other's feet, as well as Pastor Benny's and Mama Diana's, embodying a spirit of servant leadership. The evening also featured a time of communion, where they broke bread together and par-took in the Holy Communion. The atmosphere was filled with gratitude, humility, and unity. Over the past 11 months, the Powerteens have come together to grow in the Word of the Lord, strengthening their faith and deepening their commitment to becoming true disciples of Jesus Christ.

Hawaii CoG Mission's Blitz Projects Continue

A "quick" door change for the church entry and restrooms equated to a quick change of plans. Termite damage caused the walls to fall once the frames were removed.

Most of the front wall of the church was completely destroyed by termites. The replaced wall is set off by a rock face.

Pastor Brian and volunteers worked relentlessly to make sure the renting churches had working restroom facilities for Sunday service.

The living quarters are remodeled. The floors are being installed.

HILO Church Completes Sewer Work with Partnerships from Church of God Men and Women of Action, Church of God World Missions and Rose Heights Church of God

Hilo Church of God on the Island of Hawai'i experienced severe decay in the sewer system, both on their property and in the city's sewer line. Pastor June and Len Guevarra, along with the congregation at the Hilo Church were faced with the seemingly impossible task of repairing the imploding system. Pastor June and Len coordinated with the local government to get on the repair list and awaited the work order to process. Likewise, they began a partnership with former Hilo Pastor, now current Rose Heights Church of GodPastor in Tyler Texas, Allen Townsend to raise the money to finish the line repair on the church property.

Meanwhile, one year ago November, Tom and Cathy Gillum of Church of God World Missions visited the property as part of the 2023 Church of God World Missions Blitz. They brought with them a generous donation to be added to funds raised to complete the work.

The impossible became completed when Church of God Men and Women of Action group from the Midwest, led by Rev.Terry Cano and accompanied by MWAO board member, Rev Bill Harrison, arrived on Island to complete the line install. Hawai'i MWOA chairman, Rev. Ian Mateo joined Bishop Rob Taylor on a trip to Hilo. This partnership inspired our State Coordinator and he had to get in on the action to help. Rev. Ian connected with this team and has begun a partnership for future projects on the Islands of Hawai'i.

This multi-departmental and multi-regional effort continues to illustrate Bishop Gary Lewis' General Assembly declaration "WE is better than ME." God's power plus partnership with his people changes the impossible to more than possible. Mahalo nut loa Church of God O'hana in Hawaii, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and Texas. Glory to God for all he has done on this project. Mahalo Pastor June and Len for your leadership and vision to complete this monumental task.
