Twenty twenty-five has begun with a flurry of projects in Hawaii Church of God. As January ended, we enjoyed our Aloha Tour doing five gatherings with over 300 in total attendance and raising over $54,000 for World Missions. As February began, we welcomed the first of two teams from the mainland in Hawaii to help with much needed work projects. One team replaced the floor and carpeting in the Molokai church and assisted with other work on Oahu. The second team leveled the floor at Jesus is Alive on the North Shore of Oahu. We are so appreciative for all that God is enabling us to accomplish.

It was so nourishing to our souls to be able to fellowship with our brothers and sisters on each island during our recent Aloha Tour. This is a great reminder of how much importance God places on relationships. When it is all said and done, our buildings, our titles, our accolades, our wealth, our accomplishments, etc. will fade to nothingness, but the godly relationship we make will last for eternity. In fact, six (arguably seven since much of the sabbath focused on relationships) of the ten commandments focus on how we relate to or treat others. Further, God so values relationship that he sent his only son, Jesus, to die on the cross, providing reconciliation to humanity repairing the broken relationship between God and humanity.

I encourage you to pause for a few minutes right now asking yourself if all is well with you and those individuals God has placed in your life. Is there anything between you and anyone that needs to be addressed? Is there any brokenness of relationship that needs to be repaired? If so, don’t hesitate. Go to that person as soon as possible and do what it takes to reconcile. This might well be the most important thing you can do today. God will help you, He cares deeply about you and your relationship with the people in your life.

Candie and I love you and continue to be so thrilled that God is allowing us to serve you here in Hawaii.

Blessings,

Journey to 21K Update

We’re excited to share that we have raised $2,215 so far in our Journey to 21K! Every donation brings us closer to our goal of reducing the cost of youth camp from $300 to $150 per camper, making it more affordable for our young people to attend. If you’d like to support this mission, please visit HawaiiCOG.org and go to the Give page. Every contribution helps us invest in the next generation of believers.

Aloha from the Hawaii Youth & Discipleship Department

We want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to each of you who have supported the Hawaii Youth & Discipleship Ministry through your prayers, financial giving, and encouragement. Because of your generosity, we are seeing God move in a mighty way—young people encountering Jesus, leaders stepping up, and a new generation rising to live out their faith. Your investment is making an eternal difference!

As we move forward, we are excited about what’s ahead! Hawaii’s Got Talent is just around the corner, giving our youth the opportunity to showcase their God-given gifts for His glory. And, of course, Youth Camp is on the horizon—a time for powerful encounters, life-changing moments, and memories that will last a lifetime. Keep these events in prayer, and if you feel led to get involved, we’d love to partner with you!

We Are the Body of Christ

In 1 Corinthians 12:12-27, Paul reminds us that we are one body with many members. Each of us has a role to play, and no part is more important than another. Just as the physical body needs every part to function properly, the Church—the Body of Christ—needs all of us working together.

Some are called to teach, others to serve, some to give, and others to intercede in prayer. Whatever your role, know this: You are vital to the work of the Kingdom! When we function together in unity, empowered by the Spirit, we see God move in ways beyond our imagination.

So let’s continue to strengthen one another, encourage the next generation, and be the hands and feet of Jesus in our communities. Mahalo for being a part of this journey. Let’s keep building, growing, and believing for even greater things ahead!

With Aloha and Gratitude,

Pastor Brian

Evangelism Department Under Way!

January saw the official launch of the replant of Newtown Ewa Beach. Exciting things are happening and church leaders are being raised up to take over the work as a church of its own in the near future. Additionally, the replant has proven to be great training opportunities for future church planters to get the training and experience they need for the future.

The Wailuku Church plant, "The Bride", under the leadership of Rev. Jason Albino is underway. This is a mothering church effort in relationship with International Christian Fellowship to see churches planted out of leadership from ICF. Be in continued prayer for this effort.

We are ready to look toward the renovation of the Wailuku church property. The Hawaii Men and Women of Action will be working diligently to have the property in operational order by the April deadline. If you are interested in being a part of the team that helps renovate the Maui property, please click on the link below and register. We are gearing up for a great undertaking, but with God, we shall see the vision completed.

Ewa Beach Church Replant is Underway

We rejoice in all that God has done through the remodeling of Newtown Ewa Beach Church of God! From start to finish, this journey has been a testament to His faithfulness and provision. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported us with your prayers, encouragement, and generosity. This transformation would not have been possible without you. We hope you are blessed as you watch this video and celebrate with us what God has accomplished!

The relaunch occurred the first Sunday of January with 51 in attendance. Once again, Hawaii Church of God proves the power of partnership. When we give our lives as resources, God gives his blessing and we make a difference for those in need.

Already, 135 families have been impacted by the church's presence. On Nov 21, 2024, Newtown Ewa Beach was the give site for a large community outreach. Each of the families received a ham, turkey and all the fixings for a Thanksgiving meal. Neighbors poured out of their homes to see who was giving the meals to them and why. "We just want to serve the community and let you know Jesus loves you, and so do we!" was the reply.

Molokai Mission Possible

On a finger shaped island in the Hawaiian chain sits a small Church with a BIG mission. The Church of God sits across the street from what was once the Coconut groves of the Ali'i or kings of Hawaii. Revs David and Shirley Nanod have made their life's mission to Pastor the Church and Community of Kaunakakai on their island of Molokai. Pastor David is a faithful servant leader. He is a hard worker who has given of himself in countless ways. When asked what help would benefit the church, Pastor Dave knew what to highlight. The termite eaten floor of the Church was a project that was bigger than he could handle alone.

The power of ministry partnership went into full effect. Pastor Dave flew to Oahu to purchase wood, carpet, and other materials to have them shipped to Molokai to await the team being led by Rev. Harold Hanks. Rev. Hanks had raised the funds and sent the money ahead to purchase the equipment needed.

Sister Shirley and the church ladies are ready to provide meals and transportation for the team coming from the mainland. They are organized and ready to serve those who have dedicated their time to raise the floor for the Molokai Mission.
