Happy New Year to our HCS Family!

As I write this, we have already embarked upon a new year. We, as a world, are a part of something “new.” As global citizens, we all share the end of one year and the beginning of a new year. From a secular standpoint, there is a rejuvenated hope that comes with a fresh start, or just simply, the desire to have “newness.” We all can appreciate the smell of the inside of a brand-new car or the first look at your new iPhone as you take it from its box.

Administrative Updates & Announcements From the Office

Annual State of the School Meeting


January 14, 2025 | 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Del Cerro Baptist Church | 5512 Pennsylvania Ln, La Mesa 91942


The Annual State of the School meeting will take place at Del Cerro Baptist Church on Tuesday evening, January 14th, in the Fellowship Hall.


This annual membership meeting will include financial information, five-year plan updates, as well as information and happenings for the remainder of this school year and next school year.


The meeting ends with a Q&A addressing questions submitted by the membership. This is your chance to ask questions and provide feedback about anything on your mind related to HCS.


RSVPs are not required but are very helpful for planning purposes as the event includes refreshments. You may RSVP and submit questions through HSL by clicking the registration button HERE.

Father Daughter Social Event Registration Open


February 28, 2025 | 6:00 - 8:00 pm

New Life Presbyterian Church of La Mesa

5333 Lake Murray Blvd. La Mesa, CA 91942


Registration is open for the Father Daughter Social Event! It will be a beautiful night for dads and their daughters to fellowship together and make lasting memories. There will be dancing, desserts, hot cocoa, coffee, and a take home gift for each family. Additionally, there will be an opportunity for fathers to speak God's Word over the daughters.


This event is open to girls in K-8th grade. If you register before 1/31/25, cost is $10 per person ($20 max per family). If you register after 1/31/25, the cost is $15 per person ($30 max per family). You can register HERE.

The WORD passage for the 2024-2025 school year is John 1:1-18. Students and parents can recite the memory passage to a teacher, club lead, or Class Day/Academy/Club Lead and receive this year's decal, along with being pictured in the yearbook and website.

Marine Science Floating Lab Field Trip


January 14, 2025 | 8:10 am - 12:30 pm

2803 Emerson St. | San Diego, CA 92106


Come aboard and explore the San Diego Bay! Students have the opportunity to learn about trawling, animal identification, plankton sampling, mud sampling, sea lion observation, and physical oceanography through hands-on activities. Boat is limited to 40 participants. Register TODAY!

San Diego Clippers x HCS Basketball Club "Family Night" Fundraiser


San Diego Clippers Family Night

January 10, 2025

7:00 pm (Doors open at 6:00 pm)

San Diego Clippers Home Court

Come join a great family night of fellowship & professional NBA basketball!


FUNDRAISING GOAL: $1,000 plus HCS Basketball fundraiser


WHO: HCS Basketball Club & families and ALL of their HCS friends & families & anyone else!


Each VIP ticket includes:

  1. Watch a professional NBA game in a local, brand new stadium
  2. View Behind-the-Scenes area of Front Wave Arena
  3. Take close-up photo of the players
  4. All students will shoot a "Free Throw" on the Clippers court after the game!
  5. Take a Family Photo on the Clippers logo!


Purchase a VIP Game ticket for $35 by specifying which player you support or supporting the general club HERE. Player named or club will receive $10 per ticket sold into the basketball account for expenses from the Clippers.


Surf Club Lunch Fundraiser at HCS Academy


January 27, 2025 | 11:55 am - 12:25 pm


The Surf Club will be selling corn dogs, Swell Sodas, and baked treats during the lunch period to raise money for their club.


Cash or Venmo accepted. This lunch is available to HCS Academy students only.

6th Grade Ice Skating


January 25, 2025 | 1:20 pm - 3:30 pm

UTC Ice


Join your fellow 6th Graders for some winter fun out on the ice! Siblings are welcome to attend this event as well. Parents may drop off students or choose to stay and fellowship. Cost is $25 per skater. Visit the Sixth Grade Camp & Social Events webpage for details and registration.
