Happy New Year to our HCS Family!

As I write this, we have already embarked upon a new year. We, as a world, are a part of something “new.” As global citizens, we all share the end of one year and the beginning of a new year. From a secular standpoint, there is a rejuvenated hope that comes with a fresh start, or just simply, the desire to have “newness.” We all can appreciate the smell of the inside of a brand-new car or the first look at your new iPhone as you take it from its box.

Marine Science Floating Lab Field Trip

Come aboard and explore the San Diego Bay! Students have the opportunity to learn about trawling, animal identification, plankton sampling, mud sampling, sea lion observation, and physical oceanography through hands-on activities. Boat is limited to 40 participants. Register TODAY!

San Diego Clippers x HCS Basketball Club "Family Night" Fundraiser
San Diego Clippers Family Night
January 10, 2025
7:00 pm (Doors open at 6:00 pm)
San Diego Clippers Home Court
Frontwave Arena, 3475 Hero Drive, Oceanside
Come join a great family night of fellowship & professional NBA basketball!
FUNDRAISING GOAL: $1,000 plus HCS Basketball fundraiser
WHO: HCS Basketball Club & families and ALL of their HCS friends & families & anyone else!
Each VIP ticket includes:
- Watch a professional NBA game in a local, brand new stadium
- View Behind-the-Scenes area of Front Wave Arena
- Take close-up photo of the players
- All students will shoot a "Free Throw" on the Clippers court after the game!
- Take a Family Photo on the Clippers logo!
Purchase a VIP Game ticket for $35 by specifying which player you support or supporting the general club HERE. Player named or club will receive $10 per ticket sold into the basketball account for expenses from the Clippers.

Surf Club Lunch Fundraiser at HCS Academy

The Surf Club will be selling corn dogs, Swell Sodas, and baked treats during the lunch period to raise money for their club.

The weekly newsletter submission deadline is 12 noon on Thursday to news@hcssd.org. This newsletter is for notices of interest to the entire school regarding HCS-sponsored events, with the exception of pre-authorized clearance for listings in the Classified section. Notices specific only to a group should go to that group’s contact list only.
HCS exists to support and encourage Christian families in the high calling of biblical discipleship through Christ-centered home education by providing administrative help, mentoring, classes, and parent-driven activities, all while honoring family sovereignty.
