Did you know that July is Fragile X Awareness Month?
Have you heard of Fragile X?Fragile X is a genetic condition causing mild to severe intellectual disability, behavioral and learning challenges, and various physical characteristics. It affects both males and females, but females usually have milder symptoms. Symptoms can include delays in talking, anxiety, and hyperactive behavior; some people may have seizures. Physical features might include large ears, a long face, a prominent jaw and forehead, and flat feet. Treatment of Fragile X includes therapy to treat learning disabilities, and medications may be used to treat anxiety and mood disorders.

SUMMER BEACH BUS 2022
June 4th to September 4th
The City of Santa Clarita is once again offering rides to Santa Monica via the 2022 Summer Beach Bus. Operating on Saturdays and Sundays from June 4 through September 4. Summer Beach Bus fares are $3 each way for children and adults, and $1.50 each way for Senior Citizens and persons with disabilities.

Special Education Survey from Sara Weinkauf of Fielding Graduate University
Do you have a child in kindergarten through 2nd grade receiving special education services? If so, you are invited to participate in a research study aimed at improving special education services. Please complete a short survey about your experiences with special education.
Completing this survey is completely voluntary and will likely take about 20-30 minutes. Your responses are anonymous, so your name will not be linked in any way to your answers. Family Focus staff or anyone else will never be able to see how you respond to the questions. Your responses will be combined with other parent responses to review everyone’s perspectives and how those may provide information to improve special education services.
