Advising Highlights

Preparing for the F/J Visa Interview

Are you currently navigating the F/J Visa application process? Watch our advisor-led video to walk through every step of the F and J visa application process. Learn what documents to prepare and what to expect during your visa interview. Whether you’re feeling anxious or just want to be prepared, this video will give you the confidence and information you need for a successful interview. Click video link above to view.

After Arrival to the U.S.

Download Your I-94

The I-94 is processed electronically during your admission to the U.S.. After your entry, you can access your I-94 online. Your Most Recent I-94 shows the details of your most recent entry to the US. and it is how you prove your status while in the U.S. So it's very important to check your I-94 soon after travel in case there is an error (see graphic above for what to look for). If there is an error, notify the International Center so we can discuss options for correction with you.

All non-U.S. citizens over the age of 18 must be able to prove "registration" at all times. As an F-1 or J-1 student, your proof of registration is your accurate Most Recent I-94. We recommend that you carry a printed copy and an electronic copy with you at all times.
