A MESSAGE FROM THE HOUSATONIC COUNCIL...

Many of our units are sharing and we are monitoring the school closings. During these continuing and unique times, the Housatonic Council continues to follow the recommendations of the CDC and the Governor's Orders regarding COVID-19.

PLEASE VIEW THE LATEST UPDATES from the State of Connecticut.

GATHERINGS: All social and recreational gatherings are limited to 25 people indoors and 50 people outdoors. Religious, spiritual, and worship gatherings are limited to 50% of capacity or up to 100 people indoors. Outdoor religious gatherings up to 50% capacity.

FACE COVERINGS: When in public maintain six-foot distance, face coverings are required to be worn. This does not apply to anyone for whom doing so would be contrary to their health because of a medical condition.

UNIT MEETINGS: In-person Scouting events should follow the latest guidelines for outdoor meetings and the guidelines of their chartering organization. The Housatonic Council recommends that indoor in-person meetings should not take place until December 1, 2020.

REMEMBER: Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

HOUSATONIC COUNCIL OFFICE: The Housatonic Council will remain on modified staffing and hours.

If you need immediate assistance please contact Carole Cafaro at carole.cafaro@scouting.org or call 203-734-3329 x 302 or John Zseller, Scout Executive at john.zseller@scouting.org or call 203-734-3329 x 304.

We will continue to update our Scouting families as more information becomes available.

Stay safe, stay healthy, and we will once again gather “around the campfire” when it is safe to do so.

Yours in Scouting,

HOUSATONIC COUNCIL COMMUNITY DAY
Can the Housatonic Council complete 1,000 hours of service in one day in the Lower Naugatuck Valley on November 21, 2020?

It's time for the Housatonic Council to give back to the community, and continue to get outside.

The Slogan of the Boy Scouts of America is "Do a Good Turn Daily". The Activities Committee challenges our units to give back to the community during these most difficult and changing times.
