Working Together To Keep School Open
Over the past several months I have asked all of our families to be mindful of choices outside of school in an effort to continue in person learning. At our school we have seen a positivity rate of 1.5%. At this time we must make great sacrifices if we are to remain healthy and keep our school open.

Yesterday, Illinois health officials reported 14,612 coronavirus cases and 168 additional deaths. If you are traveling, hosting people at your home, or have an opportunity to be near enough to others to be considered a "close contact", please consider quaranting before returning to school. Everything that we do makes a difference.
Coming Soon...The 12 Days of Christmas - a kick off to the upcoming virtual auction on March 6th. Check out some great holiday gifts: hover board, American Girl Courtney, outdoor patio heater, exercise equipment, AirPods, front pew at Christmas Mass and more! Bidding opens December 7th.

Final Classroom Vists to Celebrate the Classroom Patron Saints
The students in grade three collected Toys for Tots donations inspired by their patron saint, St. Vincent de Paul. They created a book about their saint to share with Father Gabriel.
The sixth graders dazzled Father Gabriel with their knowledge of St. Thomas Aquinas.
The seventh graders gifted Father Gabriel with a book about the Irish Monk who sailed across the Atlantic Ocean. Saint Brendan is the patron saint of boatmen, mariners, travelers, elderly adventurers, and whales, and also of portaging canoes.

Third Grade
The third grade students created a mobile that depicts the story of creation this week while studying Genesis.
"Please be aware that recent mitigation strategies impacting many of our counties do not apply to schools; and our Diocese continues to monitor our local numbers on a regular basis, staying abreast of the situation.  Due to all of our diocesan school efforts with masking, social distancing and maintaining personal hygiene and a clean facility, our diocesan schools continue to be safe learning places.  The decision about the status of face-to-face instruction remains at the decision of the Pastor, Principal, and the Superintendent of Catholic schools for all schools in the Diocese of Joliet." Dr. Michael Boyle, Diocese of Joliet Superintendent.
As we look forward to the Thanksgiving holiday and potential family gatherings, we ask all families to continue to take precautions, as you have over the last several months, to ensure we can safely continue in-person instruction and keep our students and staff healthy.

When we return from break we are planning to send a special student Christmas Card to our Grandparents. Please use this form if you'd like a card sent to your child's Grandparents.
Parent / Teacher Conferences
Zoom conferences will be held on Monday, November 23rd from 7:30 am until 7:30 pm.

To get the most out our short time together you may want to:
  • Have your conference schedule printed

We Are Thankful
We have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving! Our fourth grade students are thankful for so many things but overwhelmingly they are thankful for their families.

I am thankful for all of the amazing children at Saint Joan of Arc School and their families. Thank you for sharing them with us and thank you for supporting Catholic education.
Second Grade Was Glowing!
The second grade students had a glow party today. It was so much fun! Thank you Mrs. Clark for the great day!
