The Spirit of Thanksgiving

As we get closer to Thanksgiving and the holiday season, I’m so thankful for all the blessings we have every day while homeschooling and teaching our kids. This special time of year is a great chance to think about how good God is and all the ways He takes care of us—through our families, friends, and the love we feel in our school community.

At the heart of Thanksgiving is a spirit of thankfulness that goes beyond just one day or event. As we read in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, we’re told to “give thanks in all situations, because this is what God wants for you in Christ Jesus.” Whether we’re happy or sad, we should always look to God with grateful hearts.

HCS School-Wide Fundraiser at Panda Express

Friday, November 8

A Panda Express Near You - Nationwide

HCS is hosting a fundraiser through Panda Express to raise funds for our various programs and support the Benevolence Scholarship Fund. This fundraiser is available at Panda Express locations nationwide.

To participate, place your online order for pickup or delivery on Friday, November 8, and apply code 928039 in the Fundraiser Code box during online checkout at the Panda Express website or via the Panda Express App. Please note: food delivery services cannot be used for this fundraiser.

HCS Merch Boutique Open Year Round

Did you miss out on ordering school merch this past fall? The HCS Merch Boutique located in the school office carries a limited selection of HCS swag so that you can sport your school spirit now.

The next online store offer doesn't happen until February, so if you don't want to wait until then, stop by the office soon. More information is available on the Merch Store web page.

High School Formal 2025 - Save the Date!

HCS is excited to announce that this year's High School Formal will be held at JULEP Venue on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

Formal is open to all HCS students in grades 9-12. More details will be available in the weeks to come.

USS Midway Museum Field Trip

November 13, 2024 | 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

910 North Harbor Dr. | San Diego, CA 92101

The USS Midway has more than 30 restored aircraft and helicopters displayed on their Hangar and Flight Decks. They span decades from the Battle of Midway in 1942, the Korean and Vietnam Wars, to today's tactical aircraft. Features include a Self-Guided Audio Tour (bring your own earbuds), Exhibits and Activities, and Battle of Midway Bookstore.

Sixth Graders Friendsgiving

This newsletter is for notices of interest to the entire school regarding HCS-sponsored events, with the exception of pre-authorized clearance for listings in the Classified section. Notices specific only to a group should go to that group’s contact list only.

HCS exists to support and encourage Christian families in the high calling of biblical discipleship through Christ-centered home education by providing administrative help, mentoring, classes, and parent-driven activities, all while honoring family sovereignty.
