compassion, and equality for all.
Mission:
We empower people to live thriving spiritual lives.
From the Minister

Dear Unity Family,

I had no idea NBA icon Michael Jordan and I have something in common. Okay, that’s a bit of a stretch. Let me explain.

You see, his parents took him to NASCAR races as a kid growing up in North Carolina. And my parents took me on countless weekend camping trips to Road Atlanta. In fact, there was a time in my life when I knew that race track (including the famous “ess” turns) like the back of my hand.
And so, it came as quite a surprise to many when Michael Jordan announced a few weeks ago that he is pioneering yet another path in the sports world by becoming a principle owner of a full-time NASCAR team. But any confusion was soon settled when the world found out he is a self-subscribed fan.

His goal? Diversify NASCAR with Bubba Wallace at the wheel. And let’s face it if anybody can pave the way it’s MJ and Bubba.

You may recall last summer NASCAR made a historic decision to ban the Confederate flag from its events and premises. Bubba was the driver who instigated the change and continues to be a voice for Black Lives Matter and dismantling systemic racism.

He said, “I see this as a change to educate a new audience and open more opportunities for Black people in racing.”

Thanks to Michael Jordan and Bubba Wallace we now have a whole new way to look at the beauty of “race.” May they be abundantly blessed on their mission.

There is much for which to be hopeful. We are the ones.

In Love and Unity,
Rev. Anne Tabor

Gross Revenue         $148,365.60
Net Income           $ 2,803.61

Unity of Arlington recently applied for and received a PPP loan from the government stimulus program in the amount of $19,900. At this time it is still considered a loan from the government. If we are able to get loan forgiveness, which we are fully expecting to accomplish, then it will no longer be considered a loan but a gift that does not need to be repaid. We will keep you posted as to the current status of these funds.

A Reminder of Ways to Help Protect Yourself and Others

Covid-19 is still here. In fact, recent numbers around the DFW metro area have shown increases. One reason for this may be that people are becoming a little lax about following all of the safe practices and basic prevention steps as described by scientific organizations. While a mask mandate remains in effect for Texas, this week many businesses have been allowed to increase to 75% capacity. This is not the time to fall back on safety; it's time to recommit to making sure you and your family are safe. Once again, here are the guidelines. Please review them:

  • Wear a mask, and wear it properly, with both nose and mouth covered..
  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Protect coughs by coughing and sneezing into your elbow and/or a tissue.
  • Frequently clean surfaces that are often touched, especially doorknobs, door frames, telephones, keyboards, and bathroom areas.
  • Use hand sanitizer.
  • Stay home if you are not feeling well.

Reverend Anne Tabor, M.Div., is available by appointment for spiritual counseling sessions at Unity of Arlington in a safe and supportive environment. As an ordained Unity minister, Rev. Anne, offers spiritual counseling to individuals seeking a deeper under-standing of themselves and their divine power within to solve life's challenges. Spiritual counseling can help if there is a need for inspiration, crisis support, or healing in any area of your life. Prayer and meditation are an integral part of Unity's spiritual principles, and an essential practice in realizing the answers we seek. We believe in the transformative power of affirmative prayer. You are a unique expression of God. Spiritual counseling will remind you of that!

Spiritual counseling is offered on a love offering basis. While no specific fee is expected or suggested, we do invite each person to leave a love offering. For more details, please call the church office 817-467-5151.

UNITY'S FIVE BASIC PRINCIPLES

Principle #1:
There is only one Presence and one Power in the Universe and in my life, God the Good.

Principle #2:
Human beings have a spark of divinity within them, the Christ spirit within.
Their essence is of God, and therefore they are also inherently good.

Principle #3:
Human beings create their experiences by the activity of their thinking.
Everything in the manifest realm has its beginning in thought.

Principle #4:
Prayer is creative thinking that heightens the connection with God Mind and therefore brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity, and everything good.

Principle #5:
Knowing and understanding the laws of life, also called Truth, are not enough.
A person must live the truth he or she knows.
CORE VALUES
Spirit-Led:
Centered in the awareness of God's presence, we turn within for divine guidance in
all we do.

Love:
Love is our True Nature. We express the harmonizing power of love to see good everywhere and in everybody. Love binds together the whole human family.

Diversity:
We believe that all people are created with sacred worth. In a spirit of Unity, we embrace each person as an expression of God grounded in truth and love.

Connection:
We live, love, and laugh from our Oneness with God. We honor our inter-connectedness with each other, with all life, and the earth.

Abundance:
God is our Infinite Source of Good. We gratefully demonstrate prosperity in all areas
of our lives. We wisely use our wealth of resources to serve our spiritual community and the world.

Service:
We cultivate enlightened leadership by practicing the teachings of Jesus the Christ through sacred service. It is a blessing to serve locally and globally.

Integrity:
We consciously choose to practice living our Core Values and Unity Principles rather than simply professing them. We choose to communicate from the heart with authenticity and deliver on our commitments with reliability.
