Empowering & Preparing Parents for their child's IEP

This monthly training will help parents learn everything from basic information about the IEP process to more advanced strategies—such as what to do when you don’t agree with your child’s IEP. Preparando y Empoderando a los Padres para el IEP de sus Hijos

Esta serie de talleres ayudará a los padres a aprender desde información básica sobre el proceso del IEP hasta estrategias más avanzadas, como los pasos que pueden tomar cuando no están de acuerdo con el IEP de su hijo(a). Los padres participantes recibirán una descarga digital GRATUITA para ayudarles a crear su propio cuaderno de IEP en casa.

"Collective Heritage - Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future"

Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of our residents whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. The day of September 15 is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. FFRC Community Night

with AV Alta FC

August 16

Our community night with AV Alta FC was an incredible night of soccer and fun! We had a great day giving away custom made cups to all the families. We hosted a selfie competition to win a gift box and many families participated, with one lucky family taking home the prize! Thanks again so much to AV Alta FC and everyone involved, this was a wonderful experience and we hope it do it again in the future!

Back to School Open House

August 27

This back to school open house was a nice event open for all ages. A lot of families attended, 7 organizations were present inlcuding FFRC. They had different activities- Read a book, Grant the Therapy Dog, scavenger hunt, guess the jar number, answer the question on the YA board, and art and crafts. It was a fun day!

Back to School Shopping Event

Hosted by DCFS

August 27

This event was held at the AV Mall sponsored by LA County DCFS; families were given backpacks, school supplies, a shopping spree at Old Navy, and other treats. After shopping, parents were able to check out the community resource tables. Liliah is pictured with Ebony Wilson of Ebony's Safe Space. Overall, it was a very nice event!
