NEW PODCAST EPISODE!

Thinking Through Higher Education Options

Yes, homeschool students do get into college, and it's never too early to start thinking about the higher education options for your student(s). You've taken great care and invested precious time in your student's schooling thus far, but you must also think past high school graduation. HCS Registrar, Jane Richards, will give you insight into the questions you should be asking yourself, your student, and the potential colleges that you're considering. Plus, information on the upcoming Christian College Fair.

Access the podcast on our Buzzsprout site or search for Homeschool Talk with HCS on Apple Podcast, Spotify, Podcast Addict, and more. Subscribe to the show to be notified when new episodes are uploaded.

SCHOOL PICTURE PROOFS ARE READY!

For those who attended picture day on September 2nd, you should have already received an email from Pacific Portraits with a link to your student photos. Even if you do not plan to purchase any photos, don't forget to review them as you have the option to select which shot you would like to appear in the yearbook. If no selection is made by November 1st, one will be picked for you. If you did not receive an email, or have any questions, please email info@pacificportraits.net.

Parents, to view your own proofs, you will use the same link and enter the following code: HCS-S-(Last Name)(First Initial).

For example, Lisa Jones would be: HCS-S-JonesL

Note: No need to select a pose/background for IDs; that is done by the photographer.

COFFEE WITH THE PRINCIPAL

September 29, 2025

12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Brew Coffee Spot

6101 Lake Murray Blvd, La Mesa, CA 91942

These member coffee dates are for the purpose of getting to know each other better, maybe meeting a new member or two who lives in your area, talk shop (or not), and just seeing how your school year is going. If you have not entered your Course of Study by then, bring a laptop and get step-by-step help.

In order to keep the conversation personal and manageable, coffee dates will max out with six people. While these meetups are primarily designed for adults, feel free to bring your kids if you need to. To RSVP, visit HSL HERE.

IMPORTANT DUAL ENROLLMENT REMINDER

If your high schooler is registering to take Dual Enrollment classes at a community college, please be sure to enter Kaylee Morris at mail@hcssd.org as the approver email. Please do NOT enter any other email, as your form may not go through.

For more instructions on how to register for Dual Enrollment classes, a video is available on our How To Heritage page.
