NEW Podcast Episode: The Importance of District Representative Office Visits

Join Principal Vicki Stormoen and special guest Jennifer Avilla as they discuss how to help defend the freedom to privately homeschool our children via friendly office visits to your district representative.

Access the podcast on our Buzzsprout site or search for Homeschool Talk with HCS on Apple Podcast, Spotify, Podcast Addict, and more. Subscribe to the show to be notified when new episodes are uploaded.

Mentor Requests

Our volunteer homeschool mentors are available to serve as a point of contact for you throughout the year. They can help field questions about navigating all things HCS as well as general homeschool questions. If you are looking for someone to periodically reach out to you for accountability, they are able to do that as well. If you are interested in having a mentor this year, fill out the Mentor Request form on HSL.

Who is Interested in a Father/Daughter Dance?

There has been some talk about creating a Father/Daughter Dance. There is a more formal, high school version of this event in the works for next year, but several families have expressed an interest in a younger daughters event as well.

We are looking for a committee of interested parents to put this event together. We are envisioning a 1st-8th grade range, with a fun-themed dance (western, 80s, 50s, etc). If the event is successful and the interest is there, it could become an annual event with changing themes each year. If you are interested in seeing this event come to pass and are willing to help by serving on the parent committee, please email Principal Vicki at principal@hcssd.org.
