NYS Parent Notice
Parking at City Hall.
  • Do not park in a handicap spot if you do not have a handicap permit. The Security Guard is required to contact the police if you do so. Please let's not have this happen.
  • Do not park in the Mayor's parking spot or the School Superintendent's parking spot. They do come in on Sundays and we don't need to create unnecessary issues.
  • If you park along the curb to drop off or pick up your child do NOT get out of your car. If you are coming into City Hall you must pull into a parking spot. Unattended cars along the curbside at City Hall are not permitted at anytime.

Orchestral and Private Lesson Scholarship applications are due Sunday.

Deadline for airfare decision is March 1, 2020
Registration booklets and itineraries are available at rehearsal

NYS Musician News
Special Note to Members of Principal and Concert Orchestra: Attendance is taken each week at the NYS Information Table. Stop by and sign in before rehearsal. If you did not do so last week you were counted absent. Let us know if we need to update our attendance records for last week.

Rehearsal Schedule for September 22
Brass Ensemble Noon to 1:15 pm
Prelude 12:30 to 2:30 pm
Concert Orchestra 1:30 to 4:15 pm
Principal Orchestra 1:30 to 4:30 pm
Phil Strings & Phil Winds 2:45 to 4:45 pm
All Musicians, with the exception of Principal Orchestra,
need to bring their own music stand to each rehearsal.

Youth Committee Meeting
First Meeting is this Sunday at 12:45 pm in Room 101.
The Youth Committee is the representative voice of all five ensembles.

Area Music Events
Music for Youth and Pequot Library present the
Howard Aibel Memorial Young Persons’ Concert
2 pm September 28 th
Pequot Library, Southport, CT
Join us for an afternoon of beautiful music played by the talented internationally renowned Vera String Quartet made possible by a generous gift from the Howard Aibel Foundation.  The artists will play a 50-minute program suitable for ages five to eighteen years of age that will expose students to the rich and wonderful world of the string repertoire. Travel through time, listening and learning about the age of Haydn, Beethoven Bartok and Ravel. This concert will be a treat for young ears, a gift of music! 

The public is invited to stay for the master class that will follow the performance. 
The concert on September is FREE for adults attending with children. Adults attending without children are asked to make a goodwill donation that helps to sustain future programs.
