Message from the Coordinator of Alumni Engagement

Dear Alumni and Friends,

I hope that you and your loved ones are safe and healthy in these unprecedented and challenging times. The health and well-being of our students and alumni is of utmost importance to all of us at Bucks County Community College. While the college campuses are closed indefinitely, the work we do to keep our Bucks family connected never stops, and that includes our commitment to our alumni. I hope the information included in this newsletter will help us feel closer together as we work remotely and practice social distancing.

Alumni and friends of the College are worried about the hardships facing our students right now and are asking for opportunities to assist. If you are able to donate, the annual fund is an important way that you can help. A donation to our annual fund allows the College to respond swiftly with financial support to the areas of greatest need, both now and in the future.

Included in this newsletter are several different ways you can engage with the institution. There are also inspiring stories about our students and alumni who continue to move forward with determination and hope during this time of uncertainty.

Enjoy this issue of the Gazebo e-newsletter! Thank you for your continued commitment to, and support of, the Alumni Association and the students at Bucks County Community College. Stay safe and healthy. We are #BucksCCCStrong.

All My Best,

christine.harvie@bucks.edu
Please consider donating to help support the urgent needs of our students, who deserve our care and support now more than ever!

Student Spotlight: Anna Hipp '20
Community Award Winner
By Rose Cooper

Since beginning at Bucks in the fall of 2019, Anna Hipp has been a champion at the Epstein Campus at Lower Bucks. She is the Vice President of the Arts and Culture Club and President of the Women Inspiring and Networking (WIN) club as well as the Lower Bucks Programming Council.

Anna engages with students every day to encourage them to become involved in activities and events, knowing that involvement will lead to greater success. She is always present at the various events going on at the Epstein Campus, whether it’s serving lunch at a holiday party, helping fellow students tie-dye a t-shirt, or bringing her delicious cookies to a fundraising bake sale.

Anna is a strong believer in the benefits of beginning college at a community college. For her, there was no other option - partly for financial reasons, but also because she just felt it was a smarter way to get acclimated to college life.

She is a dedicated student and because of her perseverance, has been on the Dean’s list every semester. She will graduate this semester and transfer to Rider University to pursue a degree in Psychology with the goal of completing her Master’s Degree and becoming a therapist.
