CAS awarded Autologic Exclusive Distribution Rights!

Effective with the 4th quarter of 2104, Autologic and C.A.S. have co-signed contracts naming C.A.S. as an official distributor for the Autologic product line. Autologic's Eastern US Sales Manager, Colin Ledsom stated that, "The CAS sales reps were exactly the type of representatives we were looking for. Field reps with a high level of technical experience, lots of hands-on scan tool experience and a large established customer base"...

Autologic's Scan Tool Platform
The agreement has CAS as the exclusive sales agent in a number of states including Ohio, western Massachusetts, Connecticut, upstate New York and Kentucky. CAS has five full time technical field reps in these states. All of the C.A.S. reps in these areas carry a fully loaded Autologic scanner for use in doing demonstrations and training.

The Autologic scanner is considered by many to be the premier European scan tool. Among some of its functions, you will find that the Autologic can reprogram a BMW controller without the need for re-flashing the entire car's population of controllers. The BMW factory tool mandates that one must re-flash all controllers that are not at the latest software release version. This Autologic feature is a huge time saver for any busy BMW independent shop. Model line coverage can be ordered to include BMW, Mercedes Benz, Porsche, Jaguar, Land Rover and VW/Audi.

Shops interested in seeing a live in-shop on-car demonstration can call  C.A.S. to arrange a visit by their local rep. 1-877-263-4897 M-F 8:30AM - 5:00PM
Chrysler Drops Support for wiTECH users on XP!

wiTECH w/Windows XP no longer supported!
Another one of the major OEM's has stopped support for Windows XP users!

Add Chrysler to the growing list of OEM's that will no longer support their application running on a Windows XP platform. Chrysler has announced, that effective January 2015, they will no longer support their wiTECH Diagnostic Application if it is loaded onto a PC using the Windows XP operating system. As a side note, Microsoft ended their support for the XP O/S in April 2014.

The Chrysler wiTECH program continues to work as of today but if an issue arises, the Chrysler Tech Support group will not provide the end user with any assistance until the laptop is upgraded to Windows 7 O/S or newer. Future wiTECH program updates may not function with XP and there will be no assistance in making them operate properly. CAS Tech Support will continue to provide assistance to all our 'XP' customers but we do highly encourage all 'XP' users to call us for an upgrade to Windows 7 Professional. We do not recommend upgrading to Windows 8 or 10 at this time. It should be noted that purchasing a new PC is typically not required to upgrade to Windows 7 !
Autoland's new update procedure for iScan-IIwt!

Here's one job that just got a whole lot easier!...Updating your Autoland iScan-IIwt just got a whole lot easier thanks to the new '3.0 updater program'.

In the past, most shops either did not update their 'wt' until stuck on a car they didn't have coverage for, or they had their CAS rep do it for them every few months. In some cases, Autoland offered to log in to the shop's PC and remotely update the shop's 'wt'. All great ideas in theory but extremely time consuming for all parties involved.

This all changes with the introduction of the new 3.0 update process. No PC needed, no manual selections of what to download and no deleting files and then adding files. You simply power your iScan-II up with a newly released AC power adapter, connect the iScan-IIwt to your router with a network cable and then hit a few buttons on the tool's screen! The tool then takes over and all missing updates are automatically loaded into the scanner without any further effort on the shops part.

Shops wishing to upgrade to this method of 'updating' will require a special AC adapter kit, (Call your CAS rep to order one) a network cable to connect to your shop or home router and the new 'Version 3.0' system file loaded into your iScan-IIwt. To see how easy the new update process is, click on the below video link to watch a 90 second demonstration! Then call your CAS rep to help you get going!

Tech Tip of the Month - "Is my IDS about to expire?"

The CAS Tech Support guys want to make all of our Ford IDS customers aware of a recurring tech support call in that they have been receiving during the last month.

The situation occurs when a technician starts up his IDS and sees a 'pop-up' message that says; "You are required to update to the latest version of IDS within X days". (See below screen shot example) Some techs are interpreting this message as they are about to time out and their subscription  needs to be renewed.
IDS Message
One of two versions of IDS pop-up messages that are causing the confusion.

The tech tells the owner, who swears he did a renewal less then a year ago and then proceeds to call his CAS rep or CAS Tech Support asking; "W hat's up" !?!

The solution is simple. One should first understand that this type of a message is not a subscription renewal reminder. It is simply a message that has started showing up on IDS installations that have not been updated to the latest software release version. Once the shop performs the software update, the IDS is then immediately ready to go again. CAS does keep track of all our IDS customer's authorization codes and expiration dates. You can always call us to confirm when your IDS software actually is going to expire! We also send out reminder notices to shop owners, typically about a month prior to each shops expiration date. So relax, we have got your back!

If you or your techs require help with your IDS system, in either doing a software update or resolving other operational issues, call your local CAS Rep for assistance or CAS Tech Support at 1-877-263-4897 M-F 8:30am - 5:00pm Eastern Standard Time.
