China's Battle Against 2019-nCov (3)
China has taken the most comprehensive and rigorous measures in prevention and control of the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCov) . The whole country has been mobilized and the people are united. We have full confidence and capability to win the battle against the virus.

As of midnight Feb 6 (Beijing Time), the number of confirmed cases of 2019-nCov rose to 31,161 in Chinese mainland, including 636 deaths. A total of 1,540 patients have been discharged from hospital after recovery.

Wuhan is now able to test nearly 4,200 nucleic acid samples per day, from an initial 200 samples.

Chinese Foreing Ministry: China will not suspend its civil flights, and will continue to do its utmost to bring home Chinese citizens stranded overseas.
Xi talks with Trump over phone on novel coronavirus outbreak
Chinese President Xi Jinping spoke over phone with U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday morning.

Noting that China's efforts are gradually yielding positive results, Xi stressed that China has full confidence and capability to prevail over the epidemic and that the trend of the Chinese economy maintaining long-term growth will not change.

Xi said he appreciates Trump's positive comments on China's efforts on multiple occasions, and is grateful for the supplies donated by various sections of U.S. society.

Reiterating the call the WHO has made from a professional perspective for all countries to avoid overreaction, Xi said China hopes that the U.S will assess the epidemic in a calm manner, and adopt and adjust its response measures in a reasonable way.

Doctor who warned of coronavirus passes away from the virus
Dr Li Wenliang, one of eight people who tried to warn about the novel coronavirus when it first emerged in Wuhan, now the epidemic center of the disease, passed away on Friday from the virus.
