Dear School Families,
We welcome you to Parent Teacher Conference Week. If you have not yet signed up, we ask that you check the schedule and
sign up to meet with your child's teacher. It is a wonderful time to connect, review learning goals and establish how we can best serve your child.
We invite you to join our school mass led by the 4th grade on October 5 at 8:45 a.m. The mass is a celebration of
 Our Lady of the Rosary.
I would like to let you know that I will be at the Diocese of Oakland's Administrator Conference Wednesday, October 3 to Friday, October 5. I hope to see everyone at PTG's Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 6.

Le damos la bienvenida a la semana de conferencias de padres y maestros. Si aún no se ha registrado, le pedimos que verifique el calendario y se registre para reunirse con el maestro de su hijo. Es un momento maravilloso para conectarse, revisar los objetivos de aprendizaje y establecer cómo podemos servir mejor a su hijo.

October is the Month of the Rosary - Since 1571
The Rosary is such an important tool for prayer in our lives that the entire month of October has been dedicated to the Rosary. The liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated every year on October 7th.
It was instituted to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary in gratitude for the protection that she gives the Church in answer to the praying of the Rosary by the faithful. In the month of October, let us consider this beautiful prayer of the Rosary as a means that we too can use in order to draw closer to Jesus and Mary by meditating on the great mysteries of our salvation.
The Hail Holy Queen
Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To you do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us; and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement! O loving! O sweet Virgin Mary!
V. Pray for us O Holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

At Holy Rosary School, students have the opportunity to be recognized for being Christlike. Christlike recognition is based on our Student Learning Expecations (SLE). When a student is recognized with 5 Christlike awards, they turn them in at the office to receive a certificate of recognition and free dress.
Our student body recites the SLEs every day during morning announcements...

Holy Rosary Students are Active Responsible Citizens!
Students also learn how to work as a team and classes can earn Christlike awards, as well. When they receive enough to spell C-H-R-I-S-T-L-I-K-E (10 awards), they earn a special class treat or surprise from their teacher!
We encourage our students to be Christlike in their interactions with one another during the day. They never know when they might be "caught" being Christlike!
