Warm Welcome to Pastor Martha Butzier and Pastor Richard Collier
Immanuel extends a warm welcome to Interim Pastor Martha Butzier and Interim Pastor Richard Collier. We are incredibly thankful for their spiritual leadership during this transition and grateful for their dedication to help us through our call process.
Message from Pastor Martha
It had never happened before.  After game four of the NBA Championship Finals, the Cleveland Cavaliers were down 3:1 to the Golden State Warriors.  The odds were against the Cavs; no team had ever been able to fight their way back from this position and actually become the campions of the NBA.  But LeBron James and Company fought back to win three games in a row to capture the Larry O'Brien trophy in front of the Warrior's home crowd.  What was once believed to be impossible became a reality.
When I heard the final score of game 7 of the Finals, I was overjoyed.  I wanted the Cavs to win, but mostly I was excited because the impossible became possible.   This led me to think about how often I have thought accomplishing something was impossible.  Even in the church, we can get bogged down, thinking some task we face is too much.
Immanuel is in the throws of transition.  It would be very easy for us to feel overwhelmed like the work that lies ahead is simply too much, and maybe if we were approaching the future on our own the task ahead would be impossible.  But we aren't stepping into tomorrow on our own.  We have some amazing assets in our playbook.  To begin, we have the gift of the Holy Spirit who calls us and gathers us together in the body of Christ.  We aren't just gathered together; we are led by the Spirit, who promises to light the way for us.
There is so much to celebrate at Immanuel!  And Immanuel has been thrust into a time of change and transition.  But God has us; that isn't ever going to change.  Like Lindsey, I encourage the people of Immanuel to pray for wisdom and openness to the work of the Spirit as we walk together as disciples of Christ remembering, nothing is impossible for God.
In Christ, Pastor Martha

Farewell from Sue Gifford
Dear Friends in Christ, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to serve our Lord as Little Sprouts Learning Center's child care director/administrator since July 1, 2014. It has truly been an honor and a privilege to act as a representative of Immanuel Lutheran Church's mission to serve the enrolled children and their families. My last day at Little Sprouts will be Friday July 22, 2016. I am looking forward to some personal time of respite to regroup before beginning my new venture. I trust that you will find a wonderful new director who will grow to love this staff, the children and their families like I do.
I wish you all the best in this time of transition. This is a new and exciting in the life of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Gratefully Your Sister in Christ,
Sue Gifford
