I am writing this on the coolest morning we have had for months, so of course, my mind wanders off away from summer and into Fall.  The leaves will be changing colors soon and the buses will come back to life.  As summer comes to a close, we find new life all around us.  One beautiful season turns into a different yet another beautiful season full of God's wonder.  How amazing that our Creator shares it with us!
The staff and Pastor Rich and I are busy putting together youth groups activities, including confirmation, fund raiser, a trip to Youth Quake, worship, and more.  Can you believe it; we have even started looking at Christmas already.  Holly and Sara are pleased to be taking on additional responsibilities with our youth and working together more closely.  They have a passion for the church and the message of God's love for the world.  I am looking forward to working with them and watching them grow in faith as they walk with the youth of the congregation.
Pastor Rich and I will be teaching confirmation; due to a conference we need to attend in mid-September and being new to Immanuel, these classes will be starting up the last week of September.  I have always loved this part of being a pastor, so I am looking forward to getting to know the youth better and learning with them.
The last piece of new Fall news it that I am getting closer to making a selection for the all church small group Bible study.  It's not on the schedule yet, but soon a meeting will be held for anyone interested in being a facilitator for a small group.
God is always doing something new and wonderful in our midst.  Thanks be to God!
Pastor Martha

Confirmation Ministry

We are excited to be teaching confirmation this Fall.  Because of the changes in staff in recent months, we will be making some changes to the how we do confirmation.   There will be an informational meeting on September 14th at 7 PM in the Fellowship Hall for youth and parents about those changes.

On September 28th, we kick off the new year!  All in grades 6-8th are invited to join us at 6 pm for a meal, conversation, and worship.  At 7:15, students with join the pastors to take a look at the lesson for the week.  We are also looking at how we can use the Sunday morning time to the best advantage for our youth.   We look forward to seeing everyone on September 14th!

Please help spread the invitation to new members, cherished longtime members, and even non-churched community members who love to sing! We encourage newcomers always and eagerly welcome your participation. Rehearsal CD's will be distributed to aid in learning. Did you know that when we sing songs to God, He sings back to us?!? Contact John Ivan at for more information.

Special Music
Special music offerings throughout the year offer depth and variety to worship, and allow numerous people an opportunity to share their musical gifts at Immanuel. We are blessed through solos, duets, special anthems, and Sunday School Singers that inspire and bring us to tears! Vocalists and instrumentalists are encouraged to share their God given talents as musical offerings. Please contact John Ivan at to schedule a time to share your unique gifts at Immanuel!
Prayer Requests
We appreciate all of your prayer requests each week! We want to continue praying for all individuals because we know how powerful prayer is in the lives of so many. It has been a struggle to keep the list up to date, so we have come up with a plan to keep the list current from month to month. On the first of the new month, we will restart the prayer list. If someone needs to stay on the list, just let Brenda know by using the worship card found in the weekly bulletin, calling the church office (262.248.4211), emailing Brenda at, or dropping off a note in the church office. We want your requests, so we can continue praying for those in need. Contact Brenda if you have any questions.

Journey Through Grief Group Support Group

A grief support group is being offered this fall, tentatively starting in October and running for 7 weeks.  Meetings are anticipated to take place from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at Immanuel on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.  This is a spiritually and Bible based group whose purpose is to walk together through the difficult times of the loss of a precious family member or dear friend.  While we will "never get over" the loss of a loved one, our goal is to learn to cope with and become reconciled to the losses that inevitably occur in life.  When we grieve and mourn well and in a healthy manner we will be able to transform our grief experiences into a productive, vital life that continues to be sustained by cherished memories and the hope and promises our faith gives us.  Those best served by this group will have experienced the loss at least three months ago.  There are no restrictions to losses that have occurred some time ago.  Participation will be limited to twelve people with a minimum of four needed to offer the group.   ALL are are not required to be a member of Immanuel.    A small donation is requested to cover the costs of materials.  Contact Evie Schulz at church by if you are interested or if you have questions.   262-203-0463; 262-728-6542; or .
