GRADUATION OF OUR CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS
"This has been the most important place in my life, where I learned Christian values, to love my family and neighbors, and to love God" were the sincere words of Annie, a 17 years old girl, who finished OSA's educational enrichment program for teenagers.

More than ten years of enrichment activities at OSA have included Christian education, psychological support, cognitive development, nutritional supplement, and more. More than 30 teenagers and 80 younger children have benefited from it, which has lead them to improve their school work, family relationships, social abilities, and relationship with God.

Time has come to finish one era. In December, OSA had a graduation program for more than 25 teenagers and children, who finished primary and high school programs with us. Dr. Luis Campos and Ruth joined us in this celebration to encourage them to continue pursuing the way they have been taught and obeying the Word of God that is the light for their path.

"Thank you for understanding us, for caring about us, and teaching all about God and His love. We will never forget you." Angel, an 11 year-old child, said good bye to the program with these final words, which remind us the wise words in Proverbs 22:6: "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."
CELEBRATION FOR DAY AGAINST VIOLENCE AGAINST  WOMEN
On November 25 th we celebrated the International Day Against Women´s Violence. Our Project Talita Cumi organized a wonderful program together with OSA mothers, Light of Hope Church, and 10 other local organizations. More than 200 people came to participate in a training program and a parade to raise awareness against family violence. Many government organizations also were involved with their programs and families.

OSA leaders and mothers performed a drama presentation, where they represented the situation of violence against many women in Collique. Statistics in Peru indicate that from January to October in 2016, there have been 208 murders against women, and 122 more women were almost killed by their husbands or domestic partners. OSA's Talita Cumi project continues working hard to diminish this problem in Collique, that affects the whole family, especially our little children.

There are more than 35 community leaders being trained to multiply the effect of the Project in their own families and in other zones in Collique. Next year we will continue training more women, so they can raise their voices to defend those who are being abused, and proclaiming the message of salvation, that Jesus came to this world to set us free from all kinds of oppression.

SYMPOSIUM FOR HEALTHY FAMILIES WITH LOCAL CHURCHES

Last November, four churches in Collique joined to organize a symposium to train families, so they can improve their relationships. This is the first event organized by a network of local churches in Collique, which was led by the OSA church, Luz de Esperanza (Light of Hope).  We shared important topics for families: The power of forgiveness, sexual education in a marriage, how to become a successful family, what the Bible demands for young people in our time, etc.

This first experience lets our church gain a position of leadership among faith organizations in the third zone in Collique. There is a need to promote cooperative work to reach more families for Christ and to share resources to increase the impact and the quality of church work in our area. We plan to increase the number of churches involved in network activities for next year, so we can become an example of unity in the body of Christ in Collique.

More than 100 families were reached in this first event, mostly local Christian leaders, that will multiply all that they learned in their own ministries and organizations. We expect to repeat this experience next year with more pastors motivated for this vision.
JOSE GALVITO PRE-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
Almost 140 children at the Jose Galvito preschool have been affected positively by a holistic development program implemented by OSA last year. We had a training program for teachers, so they can improve their methodology with children; we provided new educational materials and games; we gave nutritional snacks, health support, and emotional workshops for parents.

Mrs. Ada Romero, the school´s principal tells us: "We are so thankful for the support. Our children have new educational materials to play with. We had almost nothing in the past.  We also have a new classroom for our little three-year old kids. They are so happy to have a big room equipped for learning. Teachers also were trained by an OSA specialist, who taught us new ways to teach using educational games and materials. Our parents are so happy for this change facilitated by Operación San Andres, and we expect to continue working together in benefit of our little ones."
