Achieving ACE
Congratulations to Beah Cruz  & Aaron Jackson for becoming ACE Certified along with only 34 other participants in the nation in 2016.

Cruz,  is a senior at Christian Brothers High School. She is a member of the California Scholarship Federation, Student Athletic Council, and the CBHS Leadership Team.   Beah started to play competitive golf at the age of 12 with The First Tee of Greater Sacramento. She has participated in many of the National Opportunities within The First Tee Network; her most memorable being The First Tee Open at Pebble Beach.  Beah has always been an active member within the chapter, however much of her contribution has been through the Jr Tour life skills coaching committee .  It has been a pleasure to have Beah represent the chapter, participants and staff of the Greater Sacramento area.  She truly embodies The Nine Core Values™ and has been an absolute joy to be around, constantly providing laughs and memories for her peers, but also her coaches.

Jackson, a Freshman at Sierra College has been an active member of The First Tee of Greater Sacramento for the past five years.  He attended Lincoln High School and graduated this past May as a member of the varsity golf team for four years.  Aaron has volunteered much of his time with the Little Linkers Program at Diamond Oaks GC, the California Eagles Program at Haggin Oaks GC and the Angels for Hearts Program, also at Haggin Oaks.  Currently Aaron is working at Top Golf and planning to earn a degree in journalism, in hopes of one day becoming a sports broadcaster.  We are extremely proud of Aaron, enjoyed having him as a participant and are truly looking forward to watching him fulfill his dream!

THE PINNACLE OF THE FIRST TEE
Ace certification is the highest level a participant can achieve  at chapters of The First Tee. After completing the four levels of certification, PLAYer, Par, Birdie, and Eagle, participants have the option of working towards this final step in the program.

PROJECTS COMPLETED BY ACE PARTICIPANTS:
  • Community Service: Participants learn the value of giving back by volunteering for activities at The First Tee or in the community.
  • Career: Participants explore their interests and skills, matching them with career possibilities.
  • College: Participants explore issues related to college selection and educational alternatives.
  • Golf: Participants examine their golf skills, create an improvement plan, and assess the role they want golf to play in their lives.
Hank joins us at William Land Golf Course
We are very excited to have Hank Vereschzagin join us as the new General Manager of William Land Golf Course.   Please stop in and help us welcome him to the course.

Hank grew up in the Land Park region. His passion for the game of golf, his background as a writer, and working at both Bing Maloney & Haggin Oaks Golf Courses and growing up as part of the family that owned Sacramento's #1 hamburger restaurant called Ford's next to the golf course make him a perfect fit.

Our mission:

To impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill
life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices
through the game of golf.

Alumni of The First Tee of Greater Sacramento
From Lauren Dahl, alumna of The First Tee of Greater Sacramento.

I was born and raised in Sacramento and started playing golf and participating in The First Tee of Greater Sacramento at age 7. After attending Christian Brothers High School and playing on the women's golf team, I went on to play collegiate golf at Whittier College in LA. During summer break, I worked as a program coach for The First Tee where I coached 3-14 year olds at William Land Golf Course. I earned my degree in Kinesiology and Nutrition from Whittier College last May, and then went on to work as a local tour director for US Kids Golf with The First Tee of Greater Sacramento.

As I continue chasing my dream of a career in the sports industry, I am excited to start working with The LA Angels of Anaheim in January 2017. I am very grateful for the opportunity to have been involved with The First Tee of Greater Sacramento. I gained many important values, learned skills in the game of golf and life, and met many great friends and mentors. Having the opportunity to be involved in The First Tee as both a member/participant and later as a coach was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life.

Leave A Legacy
The First Tee of Greater Sacramento
is starting a Legacy Society and we invite you to join us.

The First Tee of Greater Sacramento Legacy Society is being created to honor these individuals, who have built their legacies through planned gifts that are meaningful to them.

Leave a Legacy of Making an Impact on the Lives of  Young People!

Legacy, "planned," gifts are an important source of income and sustaining support for our organization. We are honored to have received Legacy gifts from our generous donors over the years - both large and small. Every gift helps us continue our mission to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.  By becoming a member of the Society, you are investing in The First Tee of Greater Sacramento and impacting the young people in Sacramento.
