Message from the PTO President

Dear VFES Families:

The weather is warmer and the kids are excited to play outdoors! It is such a treat in April.

Thank you so much for attending the General PTO meeting last night. It is heartening to see how many parents are involved or would like to get involved with the PTO. Through this meeting, the board appreciated parents' suggestions and recommendations about making the PTO more transparent. In the spirit of transparency, you will soon find our monthly meeting minutes on the website at www.vfespto.org. We will also look into different ways to establish stronger communication between the PTO and the parents. I would love to hear your ideas!

I would like to thank Jamie Lynch and Emily Brunner for their updates on Cultural Arts. This school year, the PTO sponsored all Cultural Arts events such as Brian Pinkney (illustrator and writer), Step Afrika, Cello Fury, Chinese Round Robin, Bee Girl Assembly and more.

Jamie Lynch, who is our Spring Fair Head Chairperson, also provided us with an update on Spring Fair. Everything is falling into place and the Spring Fair Committee Chairs are very excited to introduce new games, entertainment, DJ, food etc. We are looking for Spring Fair volunteers. If you would like to help out, please let me know. Spring Fair is one of our largest fundraisers for the school and the most anticipated event of the year for our children. Please help us in making it successful!

I want to thank you for taking the time to volunteer!

I look forward to meeting you at some of the events soon. If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions, feel free to email me at ptopres@vfespto.org.

Much love,

Rujuta Mandelia
