Message from the PTO President

Dear VFES Families,

How's this for a short and sweet message. . .

On behalf of your PTO Executive Board, I'm pleased to present the 2014-2015 Gifts To School proposal.  Thanks to the generosity of our families and corporate contributors and advertisers, our remaining funds allow us to purchase a wide range of gifts to enhance the daily curriculum for our children at Valley Forge Elementary.  Please take a moment during these busy days to review the proposal, print a ballot, and vote on these diverse and enriching items.  You may return the ballot to school in your child's red folder.  Printed ballots will also be available in the school office.

With thanks as we are off and running with 9 1/2 more days of school!

Heather

Make A Difference At VFES!

The VFES PTO has the following positions open for the 2015-2016 school year:

  • Ad Sales Chairperson*
  • VP Fundraising

These positions are a great way to meet new people, help the school community and strengthen your resume. No previous experience necessary!

*About Ad Sales: We are in need of a volunteer to chair the VFES School Directory Ad Sales for the 2015-2016 school year. This is a great time to take this role because our current Ad Sales chairperson is still at VFES and will be a great resource as you learn the position. Plus, some ads have already been sold!

Contact Amanda Ivory at [email protected] or Heather Bittenbender at [email protected] with any questions or for more information.

Volunteer Clearances Update

Thanks to all of you who have already completed or are in the process of completing the background clearances that will be required to volunteer in our schools next year.  While there are certain volunteer opportunities that do not require clearances, we are encouraging our active volunteers to obtain the clearances as soon as possible so they can support all the many opportunities that are offered in our schools.   Please submit your clearance confirmations to the Human Resources Department at the District Administration Offices via email at [email protected] or by mailing them to:

Tredyffrin/Easttown School District
Human Resources Department
940 West Valley Road, Suite 1700
Wayne, PA 19087

Please send in your clearances by July 1, 2015, to insure that you are available to volunteer at the beginning of the next school year.  We would also encourage you to send the completed forms all together to make the process simpler.

There are three clearances required:
  • The Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check
  • The Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
  • The Federal (FBI) Criminal History Clearance
OR  A signed and witnessed waiver for ten year residents of Pennsylvania.  Your signature on this form can be witnessed by any adult.

Thanks so much for your continuing support of the students and the staff of the T/E schools.
