Message from the PTO President
Dear VFES Families:

Thank you! Thank you! I am so proud to be a part of this wonderful school where rain or shine parents show up to support their school. The Spring Fair was a great success mainly because you braved through the rain and made it to the fair. Thank you!

Spring Fair would not have been possible without the tremendous hard work and meticulous planning by Jamie Lynch (our Spring Fair Head Chairperson) and without the utmost dedication of and commitment by our Spring Fair chairs. I can comfortably state that we have made this Spring Fair one of our largest fundraisers again! Thank you so much, Jamie and the entire Spring Fair family.

Some of you made it to the May volunteer breakfast. This breakfast is specially hosted by our teachers in appreciation of your time and commitment. The breakfast was delicious with so much variety that I could not try them all! Some of you stayed back and attended the PTO meeting later. Some of the highlights from that meeting are:

1.  All of our PTO meetings are now open and we invite all of you to       attend the meetings.
Please support your PTO by engaging with the board and presenting your perspective.  We welcome you!

2. We will update you on the budget periodically. The Spring Fair        numbers are not in yet.  Once we have the details, we will upload      it on the PTO website. It is very important for your PTO board          to be transparent and for you to see where we spend your                  money.

3. You will find our monthly PTO meeting minutes on the website.        We are currently  uploading them.

4. We also discussed some district policy around volunteer                    clearances. Our VP of  Volunteers will send that information out      to you soon.

I am hoping to see you at some of our monthly meetings. If you have any questions, please email me at For more information, please visit our website -

Much love,

Rujuta Mandelia

Thank you to Lauren Doran for taking all of the amazing pictures that are displayed in the school lobby for Eyes of a Child!  It's so nice to be welcomed to our school with all of these beautiful faces!

Thank you to Tiffany Leong for recording every child in our school for our Music Recordings Program.  This is a huge task to do by yourself and we greatly appreciate all of the hours she has spent at school for this project!

Thank you to Heather McConnell for decorating our school lobby and display case all year!  It always looks so festive as you enter the school thanks to her talents!

Thank you to Andrea Brennan and Amanda Ivory for keeping up with all the children's birthdays throughout the year with our Birthday Bulletin board in the cafeteria.  We know the children love to find their names when it's their birthday month!
