Message from the PTO President
Dear VFES Families:

There is so much to share! First of all, I want to thank you for helping us make VFES Spring Fair an enormous success. Rain or shine, we can always count on our VFES community to sparkle bright!

Spring Fair would not have been possible without the tremendous hard work and meticulous planning by Alison Murray (our Spring Fair Head Chairperson) and without the utmost dedication of and commitment by our Spring Fair chairs. I can comfortably state that we have made this Spring Fair one of our largest fundraisers again this year! Thank you so much, Alison and the entire Spring Fair family. You rock!

Special thanks to Mrs. Wills. She always makes sure that all our requests are taken care of and provides support as and when needed. Thank you, Mrs. Wills!

I also want to thank our wonderful and dedicated teachers for the delicious brunch at the Spring Fair. If you missed the brunch, here's a quick tour: Teachers decorated the science room with thank you notes, teachers brought in homemade delicacies and desserts, and they personally thanked volunteers for helping out in the school. I am so touched by their generosity and humility! Make sure you come and get your share next year!

We had our PTO meeting this Friday (May 12th). The following is a quick update:

1.  We will increase the number of PTO Board positions to include VP Cultural Arts and VP Diversity. Click here to read the description for VP Diversity.

2. We have earmarked separate funds for our Artist-in-Residence program, which is specifically designed for our 4th graders and will include two all school assemblies.

3. We are in the process of taking our directories online with myschoolanywhere.com app. We will make sure that we also have some print copies.

As always, if you have any questions, suggestions, or comments, please feel free to email me at [email protected].

Much love,
Rujuta Mandelia

Spring Fair News
Spring Fair Thank You!

Thanks to all who came out to the Spring Fair last Friday despite the rain.  Fun was had by all!  A big thank you to all of the volunteers supporting the event from raffle contributions and cakes to game keepers, face painters, and food servers.  The roles were many and the support was huge.  Thank you!!
Angelo's Pizza - Thank You!

A special thank you to Angelo's Pizza in King of Prussia for stepping up and helping out VFES in our literal hour of need on Friday, May 5.

We had approached Sal's Pizza in Gateway Shopping Center weeks ago, and was under the assumption that they would be supplying 50 pizzas for the Spring Fair at a reduced cost that we discussed with them. They did not keep their verbal agreement.

Less than two hours before the Fair was to start, there was a disagreement over price and we were out of a pizza vendor.   It was suggested we call Angelo's Pizza and not only did they make all 50 pizzas, they delivered them. On time. In rush hour. At a reduced cost.

We are asking the Valley Forge Elementary School community to remember Angelo's the next time you need a pizza or cheesesteak!   They really showed us the true meaning of community and we are extremely grateful!
