Help Plan the City's Newest Park
The City will host a public meeting regarding the Old Riverside Drive Park Master Plan on Monday, June 6 from 6 - 8 p.m. at City Hall. The meeting will provide the community with the opportunity to learn more about the planning process and provide input on park design and amenities. 
The Next Ten Update
The City will host a public meeting regarding the Next Ten update on Thursday, June 9 from 6:30 - 8 p.m. at City Hall. The community is invited to review the draft recommendations for the Next Ten Comprehensive Plan 5-year Update. This is a 5-year update to the 2017 Next Ten Comprehensive Plan and will highlight the accomplishments over the past five years. For more information visit: spr.gs/thenext10
Help Us Plan a Safer Roswell Road
The City will host a second community meeting as it continues the process of identifying improvements to enhance the long-term safety of Roswell Road. The Roswell Road Access Management Plan meeting is scheduled for June 23 from 6 - 8 p.m. at City Hall. The plan builds upon the Next Ten Comprehensive Plan and Roswell Road Small Area Plan, which established a vision for Roswell Road as a “boulevard” with safer access for motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists.
We Want to Hear From You
Last month, the City hosted a community meeting regarding the City Springs Master Plan update. During the meeting input was collected on the future of the City Springs district. You can still share your ideas with us through June 3. There will also be another opportunity to share input at the Sandy Springs Farmers Market on Saturday, June 25. Saturday Mornings are Fresh and Flavorful at the Farmers Market
Add the Farmers Market to your weekend routine Saturday mornings at the City Green at City Springs. Market hours are from 8:30 a.m. until noon (rain or shine). On Saturday, June 5, be sure to stop by the Council's booth to meet members of the Sandy Springs City Council. Learn more at the Farmers Market's page on the City Springs website.
The Free Concert Series Continues
The City’s popular free concert series, Concerts by the Springs and City Green Live, are back this month featuring a lineup of nationally known acts, local and regional performers, and spot-on tribute bands. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chairs, and a small snack table. Lawn seating for both concert series is free to the public. Sunday, June 5 at 5 p.m. at the Heritage Amphitheatre
Departure replicates the look, sound, and feel of the original 80's rock supergroup, Journey.
City Green Live: Stooges Brass Band
Friday, June 10 at 6 p.m. on the City Green
The Stooges Brass Band has earned their rank as one of the elite brass bands in New Orleans. The band consistently provides a welcome blast of true New Orleans spirit engaging audiences with their innovative blend of traditional New Orleans brass sounds, contemporary jazz and hip-hop beats.
City Green Live: Maggie Rose
Friday, June 24 at 6 p.m. on the City Green
Maggie Rose, a Nashville-based American Rock & Soul singer/songwriter, is an artist fully coming into her own. "I've worked in this industry for over a decade, and I feel like I've finally carved out a lane that's genre-bending and all my own."

The Sandy Springs Conservancy's Next Trail Blazers Walk Explores The Abernathy Greenway!

Register now for the next Trail Blazers walk at the Abernathy Greenway in Sandy Springs on Saturday, June 4 at 8:30 a.m. Join the walk with guide Linda Bain, former Sandy Springs Conservancy director and founding board member. Take an interesting walk through the Greenway, Playable Art Park and Sculpture Garden, and learn about the park's history. Walks are limited to 25 participants and registration is required.
The 10th Annual Rockin' the Runway Fashion Show,
Presented by UPS on June 14 at 5:30 p.m. in Byers Theatre
Join us for Rockin' the Runway, a fashion show to benefit The Drake House. Included in the cost of each ticket is a wide assortment of small bites provided by Sandy Springs' best restaurants as well as one drink ticket. All proceeds support The Drake House, a local nonprofit that provides a lifeline of supportive housing and enrichment programs for mothers and their children who are experiencing homelessness in North Metro Atlanta.
CAC Career Center Workshops
Looking for a job, or trying to find a better one? Join CAC’s Career Center, in partnership with Goodwill of North Georgia, for three workshops that will add to your job search toolbox. Learn tips and tricks to make yourself a prime candidate for a higher-paying job and start making moves! These workshops are free and open to all Sandy Springs and Dunwoody residents.

COVID-19 UPDATE
Conducting City Business

Permitting and Revenue The City’s Revenue and Permits Office is located in the lobby of City Hall. The operating hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Revenue and Permits desks operate on an appointment system. You can check availability and schedule an appointment by visiting spr.gs/chq. If you arrive without an appointment, you can visit spr.gs/chq to schedule the next available appointment.

Municipal Court conducts in-person court hearings and provides virtual court upon request. If you are interested in handling your case virtually, please email the court at municipalcourts@sandyspringsga.gov or call 770-206-2075.

In keeping with current CDC guidance, visitors who are fully vaccinated, have not been exposed to a known positive case, and are not having symptoms are not required to wear masks inside City facilities. If you are not vaccinated or have a compromised immune system, masks are encouraged, but not required.

Challenge Island's Family Fun Night
Sunday, June 5 at 6 p.m. at Hammond Park
Are you ready for some summer fun?! Challenge Island shares the excitement of a theme park and teaches participants how to build a roller coaster! Families will take a trip to their favorite theme park to design and engineer their very own roller coaster with exciting loops, turns, and drops! Explore potential and kinetic energy together and enjoy some wild rides and ride into summer.

Free Fitness Series Beginning June 7
Get your day started off the right way with a group-led workout on the City Green. Beginning June 7 and running every Tuesday morning through November 15, head to the City Green for an early morning group-led workout. The hour-long workout will begin at 6 a.m. Activities include: bodyweight exercises, agility ladders, running, weighted medicine balls, and sandbag workouts all designed to help keep you in shape! Paint Like Bob Ross at Hammond Park Community Building
Complete an oil painting in just one class, even if you’ve never painted before! That’s the magic of the techniques used by Bob Ross in his popular TV series, the Joy of Painting®. Bob Ross Certified Instructor Jeremy Rogers will walk you through
step-by-step instructions on how to paint a beautiful Ross landscape, complete with “happy trees!” Students are required to bring a roll of paper towels to clean brushes between colors. Photography Club Will Meet Tuesday, June 7, at 6 p.m.
at Lost Corner Preserve
Whether you are looking to improve your photography or simply want to begin using more than your camera’s automatic setting, join like-minded individuals at the Sandy Springs Photography Club. The club typically meets the first Tuesday of the month from 6-8 p.m. in the Cottage at Lost Corner Preserve. The Photography Club is free and open to individuals age 14 and older. Construction Update
Dunwoody Club Sidewalk Project Nears Completion
Contractors are wrapping up the Dunwoody Club Drive Sidewalk project. A pedestrian crossing system with push-button activation was added for a safer crossing. Street restoration and roadway striping have been completed and riprap was installed to prevent erosion. Crews are actively cleaning the worksite and laying down fresh sod. Construction is scheduled to be finished within the next couple of weeks, weather permitting. This project is being funded by TSPLOST.

•            V22-0013, 6575 Roswell Road – Request for a variance from Sec. 8.2.7. to remove all buffer requirements along the Southern and Eastern boundaries of the property where abutting TR-3 property.
•            V22-0016, 6825 Heathfield Drive – Request for variances from Sec. 2.3.2. and Sec. 6.5.2.B.1 and Sec. 6.5.2.B.2 to allow for encroachment of an attached garage into the side street setback an additional 4’ 4 and ¼”, and to be located closer than 5’ from the front wall plane of the house by approximately 5”.
