It's Time for the Blue Stone Arts and Music Festival
The 2nd Annual Blue Stone Arts & Music Festival is scheduled to return this Friday and Saturday! We are closely monitoring the weather and will share any updates on our Social Media platforms. Be sure to check the City's Facebook page, Instagram, and X for the latest updates. The two-day event will be held in the City Springs District which includes the City Green, Blue Stone Road, and the surrounding area. The festival will welcome more than 10,000 people, feature multiple music stages, an Artist Market with more than fifty vendors, Kids Zone and more! Top national musical acts, including Lonestar and Spin Doctors, will perform nightly. Admission is FREE for this family-friendly event. Learn more at the festival's website.

The Blue Stone 5K-9 will be a pawsome event happening during the Blue Stone Art and Music Festival. Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome with or without a furry friend! The Sandy Springs Wine Festival returns on Oct. 6 from 2-5 p.m. on the Heritage Entertainment Lawn, featuring an afternoon of fantastic wines for both the Reserve Tasting and General Tasting. The full list of wines can be found on the Sandy Springs Wine Festival website. Additionally, some the City's best restaurants will offer delicious appetizers that will pair with the exceptional wines. New this year, Surfside Teas & Lemonades made with Stateside Vodka, will be available! Groove to music from the Yuppie Scum Band.

Mark your calendar for the City's first annual OktoberFEAST, featuring family fun on tap Oct. 19-20 on the City Green each day from 3-9 p.m. Enjoy live music by the Swinging Bavarians, German beers, authentic Bavarian cuisine, and polka lessons! Dog Park Closed
Work is scheduled to begin Monday, Sept. 30 to divert water run-off from the hill above the dog park. Addressing the drainage challenge is a pre-requisite to future aesthetic and operational improvements scheduled for the park. Construction will take approximately 6-8 weeks, weather permitting. Public Meeting
The community is invited to learn more about the upcoming Long Island Drive at Mount Vernon Highway intersection improvement project designed to enhance safety for motorists and pedestrians. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 17 from 5-7 p.m. in the Barfield Conference Room at City Hall.

The City is proudly expanding Veterans Park to honor the brave men and women who have served our country. For more information on how to get involved, visit spr.gs/veterans. Save-the-date for the City's annual Veterans Day Tribute on Monday, Nov. 11 at 11:30 a.m. in Byers Theatre. Immediately following this tribute, we will dedicate the sculptures in Veterans Park. Please note: in preparation for the installation of these sculptures, parts of Veterans Park will be fenced off beginning the week of Sept. 23. | |
