The popular annual event returns to City Springs! on Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 6-9 p.m. The community is invited to meet the men, women and K9s that keep the City safe. This free, family-friendly event is hosted by the Sandy Springs Recreation and Parks, Police and Fire Departments.

City Offers Telehealth Services for Non-life Threatening 911 Calls
According to SSFD, approximately 30% of weekly 911 calls are for non-life-threatening situations. Through a partnership with RightSite Health Physicians, this telehealth initiative will alleviate the burden on EMS services and reduce unnecessary ER visits. Learn more.

Sandy Springs Alerts
The City has partnered with Everbridge, a mass notification software, to power Sandy Springs Alerts. Those who register will receive notices about critical events such as severe weather and other safety concerns. To sign up, visit Spr.gs/Alerts or download the Everbridge app in the Apple Store or on Google Play. Please note: Residents who have previously registered for Sandy Springs Alerts via Smart 911 will need to complete their Everbridge profile and select notification preferences in the new Everbridge system. Smart 911 alerts will be in place through August 14.

Safety Action Plan
Aug. 29 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the North Fulton Government Services Center 7741 Roswell Road and from 6-8 p.m. at Sandy Springs City Hall.
The Safety Action Plan is designed to reduce fatal and severe injury crashes on roadways throughout the City. Both meetings will cover identical content.

Mark Your Calendar for Blue Stone Arts and Music Festival
The 2nd Annual Blue Stone Arts & Music Festival is back! Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28 in Sandy Springs! The two-day event will be held in the City Springs District which includes the City Green, Blue Stone Road, and the surrounding area. The festival will welcome over 10,000 people, feature multiple music stages, an Artist Market with more than fifty vendors, Kids Zone and more! The opening reception for the current exhibit featuring Debra Nadelhoffer's beautiful oil paintings is scheduled for Thursday, August 8 from 6-8 p.m. Debra is the former seven-year President of the Southeastern Pastel Society, she taught weekly classes at Chastain Arts Center for 14 years and currently teaches Oil Painting at the Abernathy Arts Center. This exhibit will run through September and the Gallery will be open during City Hall's business hours. | |

Tai chi is an art embracing the mind, body and spirit. Our program is led by Master Florin Szondi is the president of the USA Chen Taiji Center in Atlanta, along with additional international notoriety. Originating in ancient China, tai chi is one of the most effective exercises for health of mind and body. Although an art with great depth of knowledge and skill, it can be easy to learn and soon delivers its health benefits. Scholarships available by application through recreation@sandyspringsga.gov

Story yoga classes, where simple yoga poses are accompanied by engaging songs, puppets, and carefully selected stories that naturally lend themselves to yoga movements. Parent/caregiver and me yoga classes, where caregivers partner with their child in fun, animated poses. They’ll bark in downward dog, hiss in cobra pose, and flutter our butterfly wings as we balance, stretch, sing, and play.

Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. FIT4MOM is the nation’s leading prenatal and postnatal fitness program, providing fitness classes and a network of moms to support every stage of motherhood. From pregnancy, through postpartum and beyond, their fitness and wellness programs help make moms strong in body, mind, and spirit. The maximum participation is 20.

Both programs are scheduled to begin Monday, Aug. 19 with the registration deadline Aug. 26.
Citywide soccer is located at Hammond Park, there is a parents information meeting on Aug. 12 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Hammond Park Activity building.
