Consular services:
Online appointment system available for
Life Proof Certificates (remote)
| | |
The online appointment system now allows citizens to schedule appointments for remote (non-presential) Life Proof Certificates, providing greater convenience for those who require this service without having to visit the Consulate in person.
As previously communicated, this system also remains available for consular services that require RENAPER’s intervention —specifically DNI and passport applications— and has become a key tool in streamlining access to these high-demand services, and will continue to be progressively expanded to incorporate additional consular procedures.
For DNI, passport, and Life Proof Certificates, Argentine citizens are reminded that appointments must be requested exclusively through our official website:
https://cnyor.cancilleria.gob.ar/es/turnos-online
Given the high number of unattended appointments, we kindly remind citizens who have booked and confirmed a slot to arrive on the scheduled date and time. If unable to attend, we respectfully ask that you notify us in advance so the appointment may be reassigned, allowing us to better serve the community as a whole.

This exhibition presents Bruno Rodríguez Maraude’s ongoing exploration of geometry, everyday objects, and upcycling as a contemporary artistic practice. Through precise geometric structures, color, and repetition, familiar materials are transformed into dynamic compositions that balance order and emotion. Drawing on his architectural background, the artist invites reflection on material memory, consumption, and the creation of new meanings at the intersection of art, design, and architecture.

In this exhibition, visual artist and psychologist Marcela Hoffer explores the healing power of art. In this series, she uses the creation of new shapes and forms derived from Argentine’s provincial symbols and icons. Through these circular forms, she explores her Argentine heritage, particularly inner distances, opening space for wholeness, balance, and transformation.
Marcela was born and raised in Buenos Aires, and moved to New York City as a young adult. Her project deconstructs familiar Argentine forms and reassembles them into emergent ones. The work creates a contemplative space in which perception can soften, allowing insight, integration, and embodied understanding.

| | Argentine Artists launch the 2026 Exhibition Season | | |
The Consulate General and Promotion Center of Argentina in New York inaugurated its 2026 Cultural Program with two simultaneous solo exhibitions by Argentine artists Bruno Rodríguez Maraude and Marcela Hoffer, presented across the Gallery Hall and the Library Hall.
The joint-opening format, launched last year, fostered a dialogue between the work of an Argentine visiting artist and an Argentine artist based in the United States, while welcoming a diverse audience from the Argentine and local cultural communities.
Vinyl Geometries, by Rodríguez Maraude, explores geometry, repetition, and material transformation through re-signified surfaces and rigorous structures, inviting close observation and reflection on form and process. In parallel, Internal Maps by Marcela Hoffer offers an introspective journey inspired by Argentine provincial symbols and circular forms, creating a contemplative space that engages memory, perception, and integration.
Together, these exhibitions marked a strong opening to the Consulate’s 2026 exhibition season, reaffirming its commitment to showcasing contemporary Argentine art and fostering cultural dialogue in New York.

Queremos tanto a Jane - Juana Libedinsky
| | | | |
The Consulate General and Promotion Center of Argentina in New York hosted the presentation of Queremos tanto a Jane by Argentine journalist and cultural critic Juana Libedinsky in an event that explored the unexpected yet powerful connections between a nineteenth-century English writer, a contemporary Argentine book, and a Consulate in Manhattan.
Marking the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen’s birth, Libedinsky offered an engaging and insightful exploration of the vibrant global fandom that continues to read, reread, reinterpret, and reinvent the author of Pride and Prejudice.
| | |
Neither a biography nor an academic study, Queremos tanto a Jane begins with a simple question: why do we keep reading Jane Austen? With wit and erudition, Libedinsky approaches Austen from a distinctly Argentine perspective, linking her work to pop culture, film, television, and the everyday experience of reading. The book also stands out as the first work on Jane Austen written in Latin America.
The evening featured a conversation with the author and special participation by Gabriela Montero of the Jane Austen Society of Mexico and the board of the Jane Austen Society of North America, underscoring the global reach of Austen’s readership.
