New Consul General, Amb. Gerardo Díaz Bartolomé

Dear compatriotas and friends,

I have the honor to address you as the new Consul General and Director of the Argentina Promotion Center in New York, a commitment I proudly assume to serve an extraordinarily active Argentine community that embraces its roots with the desire to contribute to the future of Argentina. I also take on this responsibility with great enthusiasm to promote and strengthen trade and investments, culture and the bonds of friendship that unite Argentina and the United States.

Having previously served as a diplomat in New York and Washington DC allowed me to know, first hand, the strong commitment and affection of our compatriots as well as to forge lasting friendships. It also gave me the privilege of getting to know the great warmth and openness of the American society towards our country. These are experiences that I will keep well in mind in this new stage.

To my Argentine compatriotas, you can count on a Consulate General that will always be open to assist you and take care of your needs, listen to your concerns, support your initiatives and celebrate our traditions. Our purpose will be to make the Consulate General's building “your home away from home”. Our doors are open and our commitment is to provide an agile, increasingly innovative service that meets your needs with growing efficiency. You know where to find us and our website and social media will keep us even closer.

To all friends of Argentina, present and future, allow me to assure you that you will find in our Consulate General a strong team always ready to promote and deepen trade and investment, facilitate contacts and business relations. We are especially encouraged by the positive prospects of economic growth in Argentina derived from the deep transformation and modernization process promoted by the government of President Javier Milei in order to facilitate trade, investment and, thus, the economic development of our country. We will also be always ready to foster bonds on education, science and culture between two friendly societies such as those of Argentina and the United States.

Looking forward to meeting you soon, I remain at your disposal and send you my warmest greetings.

Gerardo Díaz Bartolomé

Consul General and Director of the Promotion Center of the Argentine Republic in New York.

Community Affairs

Consular services:

Online Platform to schedule appointments

With the aim of providing an agile and increasingly innovative service that meets the needs of the Argentine community efficiently, the Consulate General team is currently working, as a priority, on the prompt implementation of an online appointment system for consular services.

Within the framework of other innovations and internal restructuring of the Consulate, this initiative seeks to expedite the granting of appointments to overcome the delay of the procedures that involve the intervention of RENAPER (DNI and Passports).

Once the system is implemented, citizens requiring a consular service will be able to see the availability appointments in real time, including those recently canceled and available on the same day or in a very short period of time, which will make the system more efficient within the framework of the extremely high demand registered in procedures linked to RENAPER.

Legislative Elections 2025 - Vote abroad

In order to be able to vote in the next legislative elections, Argentine citizens must be an updated address in their DNI. Registration closes 180 days before election day.

To have your address updated in your DNI, please email cnyor-tramites@mrecic.gov.ar for an appointment.

Congratulations to the new Argentine citizens!

Argentine Lawyers Association of New York

It was a pleasure to welcome lawyers from our country from the Argentine Lawyers Association of New York. It was a very fruitful networking event that allowed us to talk about different ways to work together to promote Argentina.

The Argentine Lawyers Association (ALAONY) is a non-for-profit organization founded in 2018 that promotes professional relationships among Argentine lawyers practicing in the U.S. and provides an environment where members can exchange ideas, experiences and discuss goals relating to the legal industry.

Welcome Bianca and "Argentinos En NY"!

We welcomed Bianca Vidal, well-known organizer and founder of "Argentinos En NY", an active entity that has been connecting and empowering the Argentine community in New York and surrounding areas for more than 10 years.

We admire her commitment and passion in bringing our community together, and we look forward to collaborating with her dynamic and active agenda.

Our Consulate will be closed on March 3rd and 4th, as well as on March 24th, in observance of national holidays.

"Instants of Liquefying into Unison"

On February 6, the exhibition "Instants of Liquefying into Unison" by young Argentine artist Brenda Sabbagh was inaugurated in the Gallery Room of our Consulate General, under the curatorship of Josefina Vilela.

Brenda Sabbagh combines abstraction and figuration, exploring painting as a medium that integrates the narrative and the gestural, connected to the body as a production tool and proposing new forms of visual and narrative representation.

Argentine talent at "Anima Animal"

We were happy to attend the premiere of "ANIMA ANIMAL" at the Joyce Theater in New York City, a project conceived by Herman Cornejo (artistic director, original concept and principal dancer), with a brilliant performance by Grupo Cadabra, choreography by Anabella Tuliano, music by Noelia Escalzo and Luis Maurette "Uji", and production by María José Lavandera.

Future Exhibitions with the support of the Consulate of Argentina in New York

Presents

Gaspar Libedisnky with Diorama.

Gaspar Libedinsky (Buenos Aires, 1976) is a visual artist, architect, and educator whose interdisciplinary work mediates between urban scale phenomena and the private, intimate space of the human body. Key to his practice is what he calls his ideas fuerzas (driving ideas): the transformation of marginal objects into objects of desire, the conversion of the ordinary into the extraordinary, and the sublimation of everyday products into a “higher life.”

Diorama presents three of his most iconic pieces — ‘Nube’, ‘Míster Trapo,’ and ‘Kunstformen der Natur’ — each of which rethinks the properties of basic household cleaning instruments: kitchen rags are upcycled into couture, plastic brooms become striking specimens of coral, and dusters turn into an uncanny explosion of clouds.

Open until March 28th
