"Unstoppable Entrepreneurs Series 2025"

Argentine Founders Shaping the Future

Following the official launching of Unstoppable Entrepreneurs Series in March, the Consulate General and Promotion Center of Argentina in NYC is pleased to announce an upcoming new edition of the Series on May 13 featuring Francisco Buchara, Co-founder & Managing Partner at SF500, a company that builds and invests in early-stage biotech startups. The company has now a presence in the United States, helping portfolio companies and taking the first steps into growing as fund manager by connecting with US investors.

In addition to participating in Unstoppable Entrepreneurs Series in New York, SF500 will be on the road with an exciting agenda, including the SynBioBeta conference in San Francisco, as well as visiting Washington DC and Philadelphia.

Challenging times call for bold founders —those capable of building companies with deep product insight, a strong understanding of market dynamics, and the agility to generate strategic options for an uncertain future. Argentina is a rich source of this kind of brave talent, particularly in biotechnology, where it leads the region with over 350 companies across fields like regenerative agriculture, functional food, regenerative medicine, AI tools, and bio manufacturing. Join us for a conversation with key players driving this transformation and explore the opportunities emerging from the region.

BY INVITATION ONLY. This is a commercial event addressed to entrepreneurs, investors, academics and key actors in the industry. If you'd like to receive an invite, please reach out to cnyor-comercial@mrecic.gov.ar

Opportunity for Biotech Investors:

GRIDX and LATAM Innovation Ecosystem

As part of our job as Promotion Center of Argentina in New York, the Consulate General was pleased to attend GRIDX NYC Demo Day: From LATAM to the World on April 29, 2025, to support participating Argentine biotech startups Biodiversity Intelligence, MIGMA, BioBlends, Protiva and CyanoMin, and meet Latin America's Emerging Innovation Ecosystem.

During the roadshow led by the venture-capital fund GRIDX in the US, these five Argentine biotech startups from the last cohort of the program presented their business opportunities to local investors, founders and partners together with other LatAm companies.

This was a unique opportunity for Biotech Investors and other relevant actors to meet, explore and engage with venture capital fund GRIDX and some of its member startups present in the roadshow.

GRIDX leads the largest early-stage funding initiative for biotechnology startups in Latin America. It currently has 81 startups in its portfolio, whose entrepreneurial teams come from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Uruguay, thus becoming the most extensive community of biotechnology startup founders in Latin America.

After its presence in New York, GRIDX will continue to be on its international Roadshow, with San Francisco as the last stop on May 5th.

We're thrilled to see what's next for GRIDX, bridging Latin America's innovative biotech startups with global investors and showcasing the region's talent and biodiversity in North America's top innovation hubs.

Promoting Catamarca's

investment opportunities in New York

The Consulate General and Promotion Center of Argentina in New York joined the governor of Catamarca, Raúl Jalil, and the vice-governor Rubén Dusso, during their work visit to New York on 14-15 April, in meetings with current and potential investors, as well as local firms advising companies with interests and presence in the mining and energy industry of the province.

The visit was a timely occasion to present the province’s investment opportunities, provide details on the economic-commercial plans and competitive advantages in a very auspicious local climate due to Argentina’s economic growth prospects.

Catamarca’s exports originate mainly in mining, accompanied by other chains such as olive and horticultural production, among others, with a smaller share in total exports. Catamarca is the leading producer of copper and lithium in the country. In ornamental rocks, it is the only producer of rhodochrosite, with a reserve that is unique in the world.

Governor Jalil was also the keynote speaker at a working breakfast meeting organized by the Council of the Americas/Americas Society, where he made a presentation to entrepreneurs, businessmen and local consultants linked to current or potential investments in the mining and energy industry and with special interest in learning about the provincial experience in the application of the Incentive Regime for Large Investments (RIGI).

The Consulate General and Promotion Center of Argentina in New York joined Argentina’s National Tourism Promotion Institute (INPROTUR) and Ente Patagonia to accompany and support the BUY PATAGONIA marketing and promotional activities held at the Chelsea Glass House, New York, on April 1st, to promote tourism to the Patagonia region of Argentina in the US market.

The Patagonian delegation included tourism entrepreneurs and provincial authorities of Neuquén, Río Negro, Chubut, Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego who met with counterparts from the U.S. private tourism sector, predominantly U.S. tour operators and travel agents, with the aim of stimulating this market, which is the second in strategic value for the Southernmost region of the continent.

Various types of tourism and services available at Patagonia were presented, including nature tourism, cultural tourism, cruises, food and wine tourism, sport fishing, wildlife watching, and high-end activities.

Consular services:

Online Platform to schedule appointments

With the aim of providing an agile and increasingly innovative service that meets the needs of the Argentine community efficiently, the Consulate General team is currently finalizing, as a priority, the prompt implementation of an online appointment system for consular services.

Within the framework of other innovations and internal restructuring of the Consulate, this initiative seeks to expedite the granting of appointments to overcome the delay of the procedures that involve the intervention of RENAPER (DNI and Passports).

Once the system is implemented in the coming weeks, citizens requiring a consular service will be able to see the availability appointments in real time, including those recently canceled and available on the same day or in a very short period of time, which will make the system more efficient within the framework of the extremely high demand registered in procedures linked to RENAPER.

Given the high number of no-shows, Argentine citizens who have requested and confirmed an appointment are kindly requested to show up on the agreed day and time of such appointment or, failing that, let us know in advance so that we can assign it to another citizen and thus speed up the process.

Congratulations to the new Argentine citizens!

"Entre - Lazos" by Jonathan Taub

The exhibition opened on March 12 with a large turnout of lovers of good art, who spared no praise for Jonathan Taub's works on display and appreciated the creativity, colorfulness, liveliness and, certainly, surprises enclosed in the strokes of each work.

The exhibition will remain open to the public until May 23, and can be visited from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 1 pm and from 2 to 4 pm, except on national holidays.

"Modern echoes" by Luciana Levinton

The Consulate General of Argentina in New York presents

"Modern echoes", by Luciana Levinton

"In this exhibition of paintings, entitled 'Modern Echoes' inspirations arise from a research on the current of modern and contemporary architecture and design, the Delfina and Amancio Williams' House on the Stream in Mar del Plata, the work of Lina Bo Bardi in Sao Paulo, Eileen Gray's projects in Paris in the 20's, Charlotte Perriand, Athos Bulcao, Clorindo Testa and Le Corbusier, among others.

Through my painting, I seek to communicate and make some of these works known.

As an architect graduated from the University of Buenos Aires, each painting I present carries behind it a documentary research and together they cover an era, a body of work of an architecture of the Modern Movement, from the point of view of pictorial art" (Artist's statement)

"Intangible Landscapes" by Mirta Gendin

The Consulate General of Argentina in New York presents

"Intangible Landscapes", by Mirta Gendin and curated by Carla Rey

"The landscape is an image in contemplation, a fleeting instant caught in reflection. Mirta Gendin captures its ephemerality and, through her creative process, transforms it into an open territory where light and form dissolve into new perceptions.

Mirta Gendin’s work mutates into vibration, into a weave of light oscillating between the real and the imagined. Each image is a threshold, a reflection that unravels and begins again, inviting the gaze to lose itself in its transformation".
