The Opening Hymn: As with Gladness Those of Old After reading the Epiphany gospel, William C. Dix penned this hymn. Dix, the manager of a marine insurance company, was also a gifted hymnwriter. Among his many fine contributions is "What Child Is This."
The Middle Hymn: Arise, You Light Is Come This hymn was first published by the Ecumenical Woman's Center of Chicago in the 1974 collection of hymn adaptations. Because We Are One People. Rugh Duck later included it in her own collection, Dancing in the Universe.
The Anthem: Psalm 27 paraphrase by D.H. Clark. ROCKINGHAM, arr. D. H. Clark.
The Communion Anthem: Alleluia by Jan Reese.
The Closing Hymn: Hark! The Herald Angels Sing The original version of Charles Wesley's hymn has received various alterations throughtout the years. This adaptation by George Elderkin utilizes a repeated ascription, "Jesus, the light of the world," and a refrain to create a rousing carol of praise.
