Sci-ROI initiative
Sci-ROI is excited to mention that our 3rd Virtual Recruitment Drive will be organized during 6th-12th December 2021. The virtual recruitment drive intends to bring together well-qualified Indian STEM professionals residing abroad and recruiters from reputable Indian institutes and industry. 175+ candidates from various disciplines of STEM have registered for this drive leading up to around 600 applications for multiple posts for 19 academic institutes or industry organizations from India.

IIT-Jodhpur, IIT-Gandhinagar, IIT-Madras (Biotech), IIT-Tirupati, TIFR-Mumbai (Chemistry), IISER-Berhampur, Ashoka University, Amity University, Ahmedabad University, Azim Premji University, BITS-Pilani, GITAM, UPES, Plaksha University, Bharat Biotech, Cactus Communications, Gennova Pharmaceuticals, ACS India, Shell India, Jubilant Biosys Ltd. are participating in this drive. This drive will offer an unique opportunity for the shortlisted candidates to engage with the recruiters in 1-to-1 interviews.

Registration is closed. Recruiters are currently evaluating the submitted applications. Shortlisted candidates will hear from us soon.
Sci-ROI would like to share its Blog on "Superheroes against Superbugs (SaS)" highlighting antibiotic management, public engagement and awareness against a renewed health threat where infections are once again becoming causes of death. SaS initiative was launched in partnership with DBT/Wellcome Trust India Alliance, World Comics India, Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad, and George Institute for Global Health.

SaS made school children in India (13–14 year old teens) the focal point of its outreach and put together hands-on activities to engage with them. From games to videos, skits, comics and so on. Several complex concepts were simplified and communicated to school kids.

Volunteer's Corner
SOMNATH BISWAS
Somnath is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Princeton University. He is a chemical physicist by training with research interests in ultrafast spectroscopy, surface electronic structure, quantum optics, quantum information science and quantum materials. His research informs the design principles to engineer novel light harvesting and quantum materials with improved performance.

Somnath has been volunteering for Sci-ROI since Feb 2021. He was inspired with the Sci-ROI’s mission of facilitating the transition of young STEM researchers from abroad to India. He works with the Sci-ROI’s funding database team, helping to build a centralized database of various grants and funding schemes available for STEM professionals in India. This database will help STEM professionals to easily access a list of all the available funding opportunities at various stages of their career. He additionally works with the Sci-ROI blogs team, helping with interviewing and editing blogs published by Sci-ROI.

The Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD ), Hyderabad, is a premier institute in the country, which provides services in DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics and conducts cutting edge basic and translational research in frontier areas of modern biology.

CDFD invites applications from highly motivated candidates for admissions for Research Scholars Program 2022 beginning February / March 2022.
