Sci-ROI initiative
Sci-ROI has planned for a series of in-depth webinars on early career fellowships for anyone who is looking to transition to Indian academia. These webinars focus on talks from successful grant applicants in Indian Institutes. They will be sharing their grant application process followed by a Panel discussion including representatives from Host Institutes and Funding agencies. If you have any questions on early career transitions or re-entry funding opportunities, these webinars will answer them all!

The first webinar from the series was held in April on DST-Inspire Faculty Fellowship and it very was well received by our members outside and in India aspiring to move into independent academic positions. Now, we are coming up with the next one from the series on DBT Ramalingaswami Re-entry Fellowship scheduled on 25th July 2021. Volunteer's Corner
JAY GANDHI
I am a chemical and biomolecular engineer by training and am currently working on developing computational tools as a software engineer at Intel Corporation. I worked on computational models for the outer surface of cancer cells during my Ph.D. I found out about Sci-ROI through flyers for their 2020 Virtual Annual Event and found the webinars and Q&A panels during the event to be engaging and beneficial. I explored Sci-ROI further and started volunteering for them in February 2021. I will be developing the Sci-ROI website and managing their email.
