Our tenth and final year of the Drug-free Communities (DFC) grant is drawing nearer each day (This grant ends September 29, 2024.). When I eagerly took on the administration of the DFC grant in May 2021 (Check out the introductory note I wrote in the Summer 2021 newsletter here.), I already knew that grant would end in September 2024--which worked well with my longtime plan to retire that year!
Fear not, however! Our Coalition meetings and work will continue forward beyond my time here. Wood County Educational Service Center Family and Community Partnership Liaison/Credit Recovery Coordinator Sarah Nidiffer has agreed to add to her current duties and coordinate the work of the Coalition after the grant ends (and I retire). Likewise, longtime Coalition Director Kyle Clark is onboard to continue his leadership and oversight--as he has done so well--for a number of years.
This past three years has served as a wonderful transition for me post retiring from my sizable duties as Municipal Grants Administrator from the City of Bowling Green. I have enjoyed every minute of my time here! The mission of the Coalition is one I personally embrace. Plus, I have met and had the privilege of collaborating with so many wonderful folks--all in the name of preventing youth substance abuse. During my tenure, I am most proud of our Coalition's graduation from CADCA's National Coalition Academy (our materials were the only ones that passed the first round during the August 2021 session!) and being awarded 2022-2024 CADCA Blue Ribbon Coalition designation.
Onward and upward, Team! And, thank you for a wonderful segue into a much-anticipated retirement after 30-plus years in grants management!!!
Joy and peace, Tina Bradley
