Hello Upper School Families -
Here you can see a panel of
Upper School students as they share their experiences at our first Admissions Morning. I was so impressed with these young people! They answered a multitude of questions and shared some very moving stories with this group of prospective families. I think I speak for all of us, when I say we are immensely proud of these Griffins!
Upper School students are hard at work preparing for year end events and getting ready for their finals. Advisors and I are touching base with students regularly about the schedule for these coming weeks, but I know it can be confusing with so much going on - if you or your student have any questions, please reach out to your advisor or myself right away. We are here to help!

2:00-3:15 Wassail (Note: This is, as always, a required event for all students and faculty)
One very important reminder about scheduling that has been mentioned in this newsletter: except in the case of illness verified by a doctor, students will not be given the option to take a final exam either early or late due to absence, and a student who does not take the final as scheduled may receive a zero for that exam. We appreciate your help in making sure students are here and ready for finals.
During finals week, Upper School students’ only obligation is to be here for finals. If a student does not have a final, they are free to leave campus. The one exception is Friday the 20th. That day has a 3:15 dismissal and concludes with Wassail, our annual all-school holiday assembly. This is a required event for all Upper School students. Any student missing this event must be called in absent just as for any other regularly scheduled and required school event.
I know finals can be a source of stress for all students. I encourage everyone to check in with teachers and advisors regularly to help with that stress. Remember, finals are not designed to trick students – they are just another way for every student to demonstrate the same knowledge he or she has shown all semester in class. If you are feeling stressed, please reach out and let your teachers know – we are here to help.
Good luck in these final weeks of 2019!
