There were many traditions and additions on display at the successful 2017 NEPPA E&O Conference held May 10 - 11 at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA.
Attendees from across New England and New York had opportunities to network, hear from excellent speakers, and view the newest tools and techniques in the industry.

George Scully Retires from Groton Utilities
General Foreman George Scully of Groton Utilities (CT) has retired.

Kyle Morse Leaves Georgetown Light
Georgetown Municipal Light Department General Foreman Kyle Morse (center) was honored at a recent gathering attended by Georgetown Light staff. Kyle left the department after 17 years of service.

Belmont Municipal Light Department (MA)
On May 9, 2017, several local and state officials helped cut the ribbon to officially open Belmont Light's Blair Pond Substation at 20 Flanders Road in Belmont.

A record 241 people attended Washington Electric Coop's (WEC) annual meeting at U-32 High School on May 4th. The utility, powered by 100% renewable energy, celebrated 78 years of electric service within central Vermont and elected three board members.
Newly elected to the board is Jean Hamilton of Plainfield. Mary Just Skinner of Middlesex and Board Treasurer Don Douglas of East Orange won re-election.

APPA's DEED Board of Directors met May 11, 2017 and awarded a total of $452,205 to support ten grants, nine educational scholarships, two student research grants and eight internships.
