With the Engineering & Operations Conference scheduled for later this week, this is a good time to mention some of the other things we have planned for this summer and fall. Here are a few of the highlights:

Customer service award nominations close May 15 
You only have until May 15 to nominate your customer service superstar  for a 2017 Carol A. Tracey Customer Service Award.
 
The award is open to employees of NEPPA member utilities who deliver outstanding service to their customers, either through sustained, exceptional performance, or by developing new and/or innovative programs to meet customer needs.
 
Briefly tell us why your candidate is a great choice, include your name and utility name, and email your nomination to 
jcampbell@neppa.org by May 15.

Dana Bein
Dana Bein completes career at WG+E

Dana Bein, Operations Superintendent at Westfield (Mass.) Gas + Electric, retired April 28 after more than three decades of service to the utility.
 
He joined WG+E in 1984 as an Apprentice Lineman, was promoted to First Class Lineman in 1987, and earned promotions over the years to Utility Foreman and Operations Supervisor before being named Operations Superintendent in 2016.
 
"Dana is sure to remain busy (his normal MO) in his retirement with many rounds of golf, trying out new recipes, traveling with his wife Marion and spending lots of time with his treasured grandson Ethan," said Beth Burns, HR Coordinator at WG+E. "He will be missed around here." 
Jim Cornforth retires from Madison Electric Works
 
General Foreman Jim Cornforth retired from Madison (Maine) Electric Works in April after a 40-year career at the utility. Longtime Madison Electric employee Reggie Clement has been named to succeed him in the position.
