Institute

Institute for Organization Management (Institute) is the premier continuing education experience for chamber professionals. Since 1921, the Institute program has educated and empowered chamber executives with the knowledge and skills they need to be leaders in their organizations and industry.

The Institute curriculum is comprised of four week-long sessions. Each session is five days and is offered at five locations across the country annually. With courses on topics such as advocacy, media training, membership, finance, legal issues, human resources, and much more, Institute ultimately educates participants on all facets of running an association. Advocates Hope New Center In Keokuk Will Help Address Growing Childcare Shortage

A new childcare center opening in Keokuk this week will eventually offer space to 110 children. Advocates say the program is a needed step in addressing what they call a  chronic shortage ... Keokuk Area Chamber of Commerce  Director Shelley Oltmans played a key role in developing the center and is serving as its director.

Even though Ron Hallenbeck is retiring from his role as executive vice president of the Ames Chamber of Commerce today, April 30, Ames will always remain his home. “We have no desire to leave Ames. Immigration debate hampers guest worker programs critical to SD businesses

The intensely partisan and politicized national debate over immigration policies has cast a cloud of uncertainty over guest worker programs that for years have helped provide employees to seasonal South Dakota businesses that cannot find enough American workers...“I’ve heard a lot of fear and concern over not being able to staff for the summer because of problems with the visa programs,” said Richard Greene, president of the Keystone Chamber of Commerce and manager of the Rushmore Express hotel.
