Newton High School Band Instructor Jason Smith Named 2017 NCSS Teacher of the Year |
|

Newton High School band instructor, Jason Smith, is Newton County School System's 2017 Teacher of the Year! He will now represent Newton County Schools in the Georgia Teacher of the Year Program. Mr. Smith's prizes included $1,000 cash and a crystal vase from the Newton County Chamber of Commerce and three-month's free car rental from Covington Ford.

NCSS Superintendent Invites Students to Design Official Winter Holiday Card |
|
Newton County School Superintendent (NCSS) Samantha Fuhrey is inviting NCSS students to design the cover of her official winter holiday card. The contest is open to all NCSS elementary, middle, and high school students.
Students are asked to design a theme that reflects winter in the school district; Covington, Georgia; the holidays; etc. All ideas are welcome; however, in an effort to be inclusive of the entire NCSS student body, only nonreligious themes and language will be considered. All artwork is due in the NCSS Office of Public Relations (2109 Newton Drive NE, Covington, GA 30014) by the end of the school day on Friday, November 4, 2016.

"I am proud of the educational opportunities our school system provides for our students," said Samantha Fuhrey, Superintendent of Newton County Schools. "If you are willing to put forth the effort, I believe students can receive a high quality education that provides the foundation for an endless variety of career opportunities right here, in the Newton County School System."
