Colorado Center for Aging’s Advocacy Committee Meeting. 


At this meeting, we will launch our Call to Action for member advocates to contact their state legislators to share CCA’s legislative priorities for the 2022 General Assembly.


We will share our plans for supporting member advocates

to contact their legislators by phone, email or in person

Attendance at our recent citizen advocacy training on January 11th made it clear there are people who want to help CCA carry out our mission of educating legislators on the issues and initiatives impacting older adults during this year’s legislative session.

January 4, 2022 Letter Send to Dr. Hunsaker Ryan, Executive Director,

Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE)

On January 4, 2022, Colorado Center for Aging along with five other organizations sent a letter to Dr. Hunsaker Ryan, Executive Director of CDPHE sharing concerns regarding the Crisis Standards of Care (CSC) and their impact on older adults, including older adults with disabilities and older people of color. The letter shared concerns about the implementation of the triage protocol and that the group felt that the new CSC would result in harm to this population and may violate federal civil rights laws.

Our next CCA Advocacy Committee will be on Monday, January 24th. We will be meeting every Monday from 9:30AM to 11:00AM until the legislative session ends. The January dates are: January 24th and January 31st. Note that sometimes meetings are cancelled due to Federal holidays or other events.


*Each year on the third Monday of January, we observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. There is no CCA Advocacy Committee on Monday, January 17th to honor MLK Day.
