Plan to attend the Monday, October 24, 2022 CCA Advocacy Committee meeting from 9:30AM to 11:00AM.

At this meeting we will discuss:

We will have a short presentation from Marnie Biln with All About Seniors (a housing placement referral organization) and the Colorado Placement & Referral Alliance. Marnie will talk about HB19-1268, "Concerning The Referral of A Prospective Resident to an Assisted Living Residence by an Assisted Living Residence Referral Agency" and how they contacted legislators on the bill this summer, because they have heard that the large online housing placement entities are contacting Colorado legislators this summer because they want the bill amended to benefit their large online housing placement business model. This is an interesting story about how advocacy on bills sometimes needs to stay active for multiple years.

Advocacy Huddle - Rich Mauro will share information on the most recent meeting of the Advocacy Huddle.

Jeanette and Rich will be talking about advocacy education and will share the advocacy resources posted on the CCA website. Bring your questions!

Changes in CCA Board

CCA Welcomes New Board Members Jeanette Hensley and Chris Lynn

Jeanette Hensley

Jeanette has been involved with CCA and formerly Colorado Senior Lobby for over 23 years. She retired from The Colorado Department of Human Services as the Director of Aging and Adult Services, after working for 32 years for the state. When she is not at the Capitol lobbying our legislators, she is walking/hiking with her dogs, spending time with her granddaughters and refinishing furniture.

Chris Lynn, President and CEO of Seniors' Resource Center

After serving on the Board of Directors at SRC for 6 years, Chris was appointed to the role of President and CEO in February of 2019. After a 20+ year career in real estate, Chris has had the opportunity to serve in advisory capacities on numerous Boards, as well as helping to serve older adults in his real estate practice. Chris is a 5th generation Colorado native, and enjoys time fly fishing, biking, and time with his family.

Founded in 2015 by the creators of the award-winning documentary film CYBER-SENIORS, this non-profit organization provides senior citizens with tech-training using an intergenerational, volunteer model.
