The Next Culture of Research

Welcome to the latest edition of the Next Culture of Research. As part of Research2030, UC's 10-year strategic plan for research, the Next Culture of Research builds respect and trust amongst researchers, facilitates communication and encourages the sharing of ideas and experiences. We foster internal and external collaboration, promote mentoring and provide support and training for research faculty, students and staff so they may achieve career progression and personal well-being.

I’m pleased to share information in this issue highlighting two new institutional-level initiatives supporting faculty – FRAME and our Faculty Fulbright Scholars programs. We all know how critical mentoring is for success, so I invite you to learn more on this topic from the recent NASEM Roundtable, which we highlight below.

Thank you for all you are doing to create and promote a positive and inclusive culture of research at the University of Cincinnati.

The Faculty Retention, Advancement & Mentorship Evaluation (FRAME)

The University of Cincinnati is broadening work to grow inclusive excellence through a newly expanded program, the Faculty Retention, Advancement, & Mentorship Evaluation (FRAME) program, which is designed to build and sustain an academic research environment that fosters an equitable and civil culture in biomedical research by hiring, retaining, and promoting biomedical research faculty who use inclusive excellence strategies in their teaching, service, and/or research.
