Hello!

March is a very busy month for DRDFS! We are busy working on a few events with the Class of 2022 - events you get to look forward to next year! 😊

SAT testing is not too far away for you and DRDFS wants to make sure you feel prepared and supported. Remember you can still log-in to your Princeton Review portal to practice and re-watch the recording from your prep sessions last month! Tutor.com also allows for some SAT test prep and ways to connect with a tutor for questions/problems you may be struggling with. (If you need your log-in info for either of these accounts, please don't hesitate to reach out!) If you didn't yet complete the evaluation for SAT prep, keep reading for more info and be sure to do that ASAP.

As always, please feel welcome to reach out with questions/concerns.

NEW: NACAC'S BEST FIT MATCHMAKING DURING VIRTUAL COLLEGE FAIRS
Matchmaking is all about connecting you with your best fit college or university!

During registration for a NACAC Virtual College fair or event, you’ll be asked to choose from various college attributes you find attractive. These five attributes are:

  1. Campus Size (small, medium, large)
  2. Campus Setting (urban, suburban, rural)
  3. Majors Offered (a large list of categories)
  4. Institution Type (2 year, 4 year, private, public, etc.)
  5. Geographic Region (varied)

During registration, colleges also select which attributes apply to their institution. Students and colleges will be “matched” if their selected attributes match. The minimum number of matching attributes to be "matched" is four out of five. Click here to learn more about virtual college fairs.
ICYMI: THE PRINCETON REVIEW SAT PREP PORTAL
So you completed SAT Prep with The Princeton Review last week, now what? Did you know you have access to session recordings and additional test prep/ways to study by logging back into the portal?

Check your email for log-in instructions from Marissa!

If you haven't yet completed the evaluation, be sure to do so here!

Congratulations to those of you who won the raffles during the sessions! I will contact you to let you know when your prize is in the mail. Didn't win a raffle during the sessions? There are still ways to win:

  • First 50 students to submit their official SAT score in May to DRDFS will get a $10 gift card!
  • $100 gift cards given to 3 students who take the SAT, submit their score to DRDFS and get the top scores for the Class of 2023 Next Level Scholars!
  • $100 gift cards to the 3 most improved students who submit their scores to DRDFS!

Remember, taking the SAT isn't only for college admission. While many schools are no longer using test scores for admission, many still use them to determine things like course placement and merit scholarships!
ICYMI: BLACK HISTORY MONTH WITH THE DIA!
The Detroit Institute of Arts invites you to celebrate Black History Month at home with free online programs including music, films, art talks, and art-making, events for foodies, seniors, and kids of all ages.
