“Exploring Gestalt Practice”

In this third meeting of our series, we will continue exploring significant aspects of Gestalt Practice. Dick loved creating teachings around three key words. In our previous meetings, we worked with his "awarness—choice—trust" triad. This session will focus on the Gestalt Practice process of "contact — enter —express".

Gestalt as practice is primarily centered on the quality of awareness we bring to any moment. That contact can be expanded and deepened by entering, by "becoming" whatever we are noticing, whether it arises within us, appears in the outer world.

The entry process often opens pathways that expand our understanding and broaden our view of an experience, a relationship, or a situation. Through contact, entry, and expression, Gestalt Practice offers a creative and embodied way of working with what arises.

This is the third in a series of four initial monthly gatherings hosted by the Gestalt Practice Library and Resource Center (GPLRC). Each session includes foundational practices, didactic teaching, and experiential exploration of key topics in Gestalt Practice, followed by Q&A and open discussion.

Christine Price, Sharon Terry, and Dorothy Charles will facilitate these meetings in various combinations, drawing on the library's resources.
